when I heard that bootleg with Bono saying the song hadn't been played for over 10 years, maybe more I was thinking he should have consulted with you about it

At Cardiff i enjoyed WOWY because for a long time it was my favourite U2 song and was hoping to hear it live, but yes - a weird transition it is.

No, it hadn't been done since 12 August 1992. It was snippeted occasionally on Elevation.

(Edit: to clarify, an acoustic version of WGRYWH was done four times on the third leg of ZooTV AFTER the final full band performance on 12 August 1992. The last acoustic was 24 November 1992.)
