I'll share more thoughts later, but my top two takeaways were that the Rock/Roman Seth/Cody match might be the best wrestling match I've ever seen (having only started watching WWE in the last few years) and that I am actually really fucking upset and salty that they didn't get Stone Cold. The bell with Taker was cool but I was so underwhelmed. Aaaaaall of Rock and Stone Cold's history. His status as probably the most over wrestler that has ever been over. His iconic entrance. That glass hits and the joint would have fucking combusted and millions around the world watching would have completely lost their shit. I am trying to take what was an exceptional Wrestlemania in my stride, but at the moment I can't help but feel like I got gibbed not having Stone Cold. It feels like you go and see your favourite band and they've played your favourite song for 40 nights in a row and then they drop it for the one show you go to.

i didn't watch it live - but i feel like everyone expected stone cold - thus why taker making the appearance was actually the more surprising move.

but as late 90s early 2000s WWF/E fan who only pops his head back in when the big guns from the Attitude era reappear, a stone cold appearance is always welcome.

and the best match ever remains taker/mankind hell in a cell - but i'll allow the TLC match with the Hardy's, Dudley's and Edge & Christian.

kurt angle had some amazing matches against chris benoit and brock lesnar asd well.

Good times. I haven't watched any sort of Pro Wrestling in over 20 years. Seems like they found their groove again, so that's good.

Man, when Shawn Michaels came back in 2002, that was probably my favorite moment.

I watched the Netflix documentary series Mr. McMahon. If you're a wrestling fan, it's definitely worth watching. Most of it was filmed before the allegations against McMahon came out. A lot of top names are interviewed, but a lot of noticeable omissions. No Jim Ross. No Jerry Lawler. No Michael Cole. No Ric Flair. No Kevin Dunn. No Johnny Ace. Some of those guys were close to McMahon. I would have loved to have heard from them. Hogan gets plenty of face time. Half the time it seemed like he was full of shit. Lol!

So, WWE just aired their Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. John Cena is doing his farewell tour. In the Elimination Chamber men's match for a chance to face Cody Rhodes at WM 41 for the WWE title, Cena defeated CM Punk by submission to win the match and lock in his chance to face Cody. Afterward, Cody came out to answer The Rock's Final Boss character who asked for Cody to give him his soul. Promising him everything he ever wanted in life. Cody tells Rock to go fuck himself. Uncensored no less. Cena leans in and hugs Cody. Cena looks at Rock strangely. Rock gives a slit the throat signal. Cena kicks Cody in the balls. For the 1st time since roughly 2003, Cena is a heel. Many fans have been clamoring for this since 2006. Lol. Cena and Rock viciously attack Cody and leave him laying with his face all bloody. John Cena has turned to the dark side. Definitely a memorable ending to the show.

It should be. In Cena's part time role in WWE over the last several years, he's taken a lot of losses. I'd have to think that would play a part into why he aligned with Rock.

I got spoiled before I watched it, and that might be the worst spoiler ever. Very mad. But it was still epic to watch. Huge credit goes to Triple H. It's funny watching Mr McMahon and how he says to Shane, you want control, you'll have to kill me. I know what's best. And ever since he's been fucked off, WWE has gone from strength to strength to strength. I'm 34 and missed the golden era as a kid, so can't say what that era was like, but WWE is fucking exceptional at the moment. To completely shock the audience and turn Cena heel on his farewell tour (and props to Cena as well for not just accepting a sunset ride but deciding to make some art on his way out) and then be transparent in the comms afterwards, follow it up two days later with Raw which is not Netflix... it is absolutely cooking.

I think the last time I was shocked was when Taker's streak ended at WrestleMania 30. Once Cena gave Rock the look, I knew something was up. But the largest asshole move goes to Travis Scott who legit injured Cody by damaging his eardrum and giving him a black eye. That dude has got a receipt waiting for him sometime down the line.

All the Travis Scott stuff was super stupid. The swearing though, phwoar. Not just Cody, but Michael Cole swearing at Cena too.
They don't swear too often. I think Cody dropping an F Bomb on Rock was useful to illustrate Cody's status on the matter. I'm not a fan of Cole cursing but I suppose he wanted drive home Cena's treachery. The WWE creative staff and all parties involved need to be commended for pulling off Cena's betrayal so well. Cena was so good at being heel last time that the fans grew to love him. Can't wait to see what happens this time around.

I love the swearing, to be clear, and I think it is exactly what the WWE should be doing to drive more momentum and fandom; this will never be the Attitude Era and there's shit from that time that needs to be absolutely left in the past, but edgier stuff like allowing live, uncensored swearing, then uploading it uncensored on social media, the commentators swearing — how good has Pat McAfee been lately, "I don't speak bitch" to Dom was so funny — allowing more blood, more merciless brutality, this is a big win for WWE.

WM 41 Night 1 is over and done! What kind of wrestling thread doesn't mention WrestleMania? Or "WM" for short. Lol! The Main Event Triple Threat between Rollins/Roman/Punk was the best match of the night. Lots of other solid matches that I'm just too lazy to mention. Tomorrow night's Main Event of Cena/Cody should be great. What will The Rock be doing?

Of course, WWE also had new Hall of Famers. Triple H and Lex Luger lead the Class of 2025. Thanks to Triple H, WWE will have many Hall of Famers for years to come.

Every time I think I've foreseen every possible angle. Triple H writes something new. What a crazy ending.

I thought Tiff and Flair was equally as good. Really tough. And it seems like Flair plays the role of gatekeeper. The final boss before you're accepted as a true competitor of the women's division. You beat Flair, you go to the next level. Flair nods at the end after losing and passes the torch. She had an epic match with Rhea Ripley two years again that felt similar.

Also loved LA Knight and Jacob Fatu.

Bring on tomorrow. I say Cody starts strong, gets worn down by Cena, beaten to a pulp as The Rock steps in, but then ... the glass shatters ...

Tiff just had an awesome press conference. Great insight on her thought process before and after the match. I love Stone Cold, but don't think the match "needs" him.

And John Cena is the NEW WWE Champion! This is Cena's 17th World Championship reign which surpasses Ric Flair's 16 reigns.
I missed half of Night 2. It was Easter, so I was with the family. I'm so pissed they scheduled a WM on Easter. I don't think they've ever done that before.
I'm not surprised Cena beat Cody, but the match wasn't the greatest.

Night 2 started really well... Iyo Bianca Rhea was at the very least equal to the triple threat the night before and maybe the match of the weekend. The fatal four-way was a lot of fun and had a great result for the story. Some very enjoyable spots in Priest/McIntyre and Paul/AJ (god I love Paul, I would love him to get a major push). Absolutely adored Becky's return, she's so good. The rest was a bit ehh. I liked the deliberate slower pace of Cena/Cody, it was sort of anti-wrestling and it fit in with Cena's heel turn, but it seemed like they were a bit unsure of how to write a good ending to set up more storytelling, and I just think having Travis Scott part of it really sucks.

I agree with you about Travis Scott. Having him involved sucks. Sure, Cody gave him a Cross Rhodes, but he deserved a good punch to the face. We'll see. Maybe he still gets one. Can't wait for Cody/Cena II.

I love the elevation of Bron Breakker, they really need to start making younger guys. Jacob Fatu is going to be huge too. We are in a post-mania period where they have to build up some more feuds and continue to capitalize off Cena’s turn if they’re planning on a two night Summerslam at Met Life. I wonder if Rock will be involved again or if he is going to be away doing his press thing for his new movie (which does look good actually).

Bron is amazing, and although I don't feel sold on Seth's turn yet, Bron as his attack dog is mad. Fatu is also amazing. Wild and sad Strowman got cut though

From what I've gathered, they released Strowman because of injuries and his salary. I hope he goes to TNA. For me, Seth was always a tweener, not a heel. He's just aligned himself with Heyman now. Breakker's spray tan and ring attire bother me, but otherwise, he's great. Lol!
