It's just past midnight on the East Coast, so I thought I'd start a discussion thread for the seventh anniversary.
I thought, to start with, I'd post video clips of the opening monologues of the first Daily Show and first Letterman to air after. They are eloquent and honest and raw. Those of us who weren't directly affected by the attacks(i.e. weren't there, didn't lose anyone, etc) unfortunately sometimes sort of almost forget what the national feeling and mood was in those days and weeks following, and I think these are a good reminder. Those of you who were directly affected by it, of course, need no reminders.
