Apparentely I'm one of the few that like Miami, but still I'm sure they could've given him something better to read.

Maybe I'm going on a musician geek tangent here. But I was looking up the chords for this song a few weeks earlier and finally realized that its chorus also uses a variation of the pop-punk chord progression, just like Every Breaking Wave does (and In a Little While, With or Without You, etc.)

The Miracle uses the progression of G-D-Bm-A in its chorus. And for comparison's sake, In a Little While uses the more popular Bm-G-D-A in its chorus. Maybe this explains some of the dislike for both songs on here... they sound too popular!
