So this is the 4th version of UV visuals? I was there 2nd weekend, and UV did not look like Northern Lights. It was an earlier version of what I saw in December, which was just perfect and should have been left alone.

Whoever went last night got Two Hearts and Seconds, lucky bastards. Surprised Don’t Dream It’s Over stuck around for a 3rd show.

Cool! I don't think I've ever managed to catch Two Hearts...would have to confirm with u2gigs.com. Hope they keep up the unpredictability.

Still seeking 1 more ticket to 2/15, 2/17, 2/18.

i might be the only person who doesn't mind the new UV visuals.

then again the only ones i've seen in person were the lame ones from opening weekend so anything is better than that.
I intended to not view the visuals cos I wanted to concentrate on the band but you can't help being in awe of them!!!

So finally caught up on the thread. Avoided seeing set lists until finally seeing the show Saturday. Wasn't much in the way of surprises in the set, Don't Dream Its Over cover would be the only song that was any kind of unexpected.
That said, the setlist was great, even though given the choice I'd obviously take Two Hearts/Seconds vs. Desire/WLCTT.
The opening run that emulated the original ZooTV was fanfuckingtastic. Transported me back 3 decades. And as I mentioned in the Sphere thread, Bono in the Fly shades at the onset appeared transported back 3 decades as well. Zoo Station/The Fly/EBTTRT to kick off the show is the an incredible opening 3 song run. As good as you'll see at any concert by any artist.. The visuals on EBTTRT were wild, standing next to the stage feeling like you were rising. UTTEOTW ripped as usual, song should never not be in a U2 set. The turntable set was fine, knew they'd slow things down for a bit. It was better than some of their acoustic endeavors on past tours. As others have mentioned, 2 or 3 songs would be preferable, then add in something full band.
When Bono said it was time to "wake the baby up" and Acrobat started I was in music fan heaven. After finally seeing it on e/i, seeing it in this show with the rest of the album took it to a whole other level. And Edge absolutely slayed the solo. Just awesome. And the solo on Love is Blindness as well. This is the version of Edge that I fell in love with. Keep the man away from acoustic guitars and pianos.
The encore set was very good albeit a slight let down after the AB run. But really enjoyed Atomic City live and the visuals of deconstructing Vegas. Streets was its usual powerhouse and looked to finally get a lot of the folks in the seats (who were probably afraid to topple over) on their feet. The encore is definitely geared towards the casual U2 fan and the crowd loved it.
Definitely one of the best concerts I've ever attended. I saw 4 shows on the original ZooTV tour (2 indoor, 2 outdoor) and that to me was the band at its absolute peak and possibly the greatest rock tour ever. But frankly this was pretty much just as powerful.
And Bram...great choice to replace Larry. He brought a real kick to certain songs. If Larry can't/won't tour in the future, the band should go on with Larry doing studio work and Bram on the road.
Got a copy of the printed setlist from one of the security guys on Adam's side, the crew handed out quite a few to folks over there.

Couldn't possibly agree with these two statements more strongly.

I will reserve judgement on glorify to hear whatever they put out. I can’t see them releasing a single with little to no Bono vocal. I have to assume that this is a mix done to keep some secrecy about the fact it is a u2 track.

That said, I am more excited about what the sound of Glorify means for their creativity than I am excited for the song itself. It shows some ambition to explore sound again - something missing from their process for 27 years.

I might be the only one who doesn't care if they just put up video of the band the whole time. Visuals can suck my fat dick! Please...

Wish he’d tell the crowd to shut up more often.
Yes.

I don't particularly like that song (weakest on AttyCab), but that was a good performance of it.

Can someone more knowledgable than I explain his comment about "unelected militias executing people"? Don't want to get political, just want to know more about what he's talking about.

He’s talking about how Ireland has had experience of militias (IRA, UDA), and drawing parallels with Hamas and the IDF.

I thought it was pretty tastefully done. He obviously wanted to make sure it didn’t turn into a rally for either side, and he more or less succeeded. And even if Peace On Earth isn’t their most subtle lyric, it’s a good one and they should dust it off more.

The "shut up" was quite something. Hard to know what was going on without being present, were the screams happy ones because he was finally addressing the horrific suffering of the Palestinian people? Were they screams from heartless Zionists? I don't know.

When I saw the show, twice in mid-late October, I was incredibly disappointed by the band's response. Both nights it was along the lines of "there's something happening in the world, we're not going to talk about it, but we are going to sing about it" and then going into one of the most boring songs in their entire catalogue while they were both sitting down. For those who went in November, December, January, did it ever get more explicit than that? For a band that, on 'this' tour 30 years ago live crossed to the Bosnian War, to equivocate such a one-sided 'war', as Israel commits a genocide against the Palestinian people, it's pretty cowardly, although I somewhat understand it given how fraught it is to speak truth about this conflict.

Great to speak about Navalny as well, but it has been bitterly disappointing how quiet they've been about Palestine after how loud they were about Ukraine.

I just want to enjoy U2 without them having to solve all the world's problems. Every single thing doesn't have to be about every single thing. It's okay.

Does everything we all love how to be affected by politics and war and hate?

Even porn has been ruined by AI.
