I am utterly heartbroken.

I bought 3 GA tix for Vegas during the pre-sale. My two best friends and I were going to meet there, since two of us are turning 30 next year (the other's a year younger) and we wanted a great pre-30 bash.

About 10 days after the pre-sale, my husband lost his job. I haven't been working since January, due to health reasons. I had hoped I'd be able to find a way to go to Vegas, anyway. My husband started a new job in the end of July, but we're so far behind that it just isn't going to work out. I was looking forward to this more than I've looked forward to anything in years.

Did I mention that I'm completely heartbroken?

I'm SOO sorry to hear this. I know what that feels like as its happened to me in the past. I am happy that your husband got a new job especially during this unstable time!

If I have some extra money, I may do some slots

I actually like playing slot machines.

I don't like to think when I gamble, and the "free" hotel rooms are nice.

That completely sucks.

Don't give up your tickets yet. It's still almost 2 months away, and maybe you could work something out. Vegas can be done on the cheap big time (depending on whether you have to buy airlines tickets or not).

You can use players cards at the tables, too. Just give them to the dealer when you sit down and they will pass it to the pit boss who will then record your buy-in. In fact, I have managed to accrue more points this way because my buy-ins at the tables are usually a lot bigger than what I would put into a slot machine.

Oh, I know. I just don't like thinking and gambling. It really is my one chance to shut my head off and watch the pretty, flashy things. I really only go to casinos twice a year (which is usually in Vegas). That's enough to get my fill. Harrah's casinos and the Venetian are pretty generous with their room deals (although not much else).

I have promised to get back to playing Black Jack. I'm good at it until I get bored.
