Well, if they're gonna do it on national TV but not live.... it just seems pointless. These guys wouldn't have cared 30 years ago.

Or maybe they want to perform the JT version since that's what is promised -- a complete rendition of the JT?

I did hear Fallon say something like "thanks for coming up with new lyrics for this (his) show"

Maybe it was a one-off, and if so, a great one at that -- one for the entire country to hear.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing a BTBS/Seconds duo on the SOE tour next year. The video seemed perfect for it.

It's possible that the BTBS we heard on Fallon is the SOE version, and therefore doesn't quite belong on the JT30 Tour.
 
I assume they'll just stick with the Trump commentary via the Exit video and not over do it with tagging Trump stuff into BTBS.

I've noticed the video screen flickering a few times tonight. I'm reminded of the Popular Mechanics article that was recently published and how they had to solve that issue at one show.
 
It was playing up during miss sarajevo during one show, especially awkward because the band were looking at the screen during the prerecorded bit
