This just in: Shuttlecock to play a former horse racetrack

That seals it - I will visit Montreal another time! :crack:

:hi5:
Same here. Not anymore anyway - and Bruce never really did it for me in that way except during the steamy Human Touch period.

Bono stopped "doing it for me" once the Zooropa period ended and Popmart began. Bruce has always done it for me, except during his BITUSA and Tom Joad periods. Tom Joad was just scary bad.

Not so fast. I think you'll be missing an epic night, the more I think about it.

It's the only non-stadium show, it's under the stars, it's in front of one of the best North American crowds (in my opinion), and the fact that the band and the promoter are spending so much money to build a temporary structure shows what they think of Montreal.

All I'm saying is you'll be able to visit a different city, a different culture altogether, and enjoy a unique U2 experience outdoors. At least consider it.

I'll snag a GA in the Minneapolis presale tomorrow and figure out logistics later. I'll probably either end up begging a fellow fan to crash on the floor of their hotel room, or begging my parents to drive there the night of the show so I can crash in the RV and then we'll drive back the next day. Parents + enclosed space of RV = :crack:

If they still go ahead and add a Wisconsin show after all this, I'm going to be really annoyed.

Damn, I wasn't even considering it but now I want to go. I've always wanted to go to Montreal. I did an astrocartography chart once (astrological relocation thing - go ahead, roll your eyes) and apparently I can have it all in Montreal - money, love, the works ... and U2! Well, I'll have to see...

pro-Palestinian socialists know how to party!

Exactly!!

Wait...what?

I am unapologetic in my love for my hometown, as I'm sure we all are. But the more I think about it, I think this will be a special night (or two) for everyone there, and the fact that it's happening at the best time to be in Montreal (the summer) you can turn it into two or three days of fun and culture.

Make it happen! (and my bank account will thank you  )

quick BoMac, write this down! Imagine that on a billboard!

:hmm:

That won't rhyme in French, so then you'll have to deal with that whole issue....

Yeah, you're right.

Is there a thread on the bowing to the emperor thing in FYM, as I may write a 2 page thesis on this issue if so. Anyone who's spent even 5 minutes in Japan would realize this is possibly the most ridiculous non-issue evar.

Even people who have never been to Japan should realize it's the most ridiculous non-issue evar.

I pisses me off that the article doesn't even once try to mention that bowing is the equivalent of shaking hands or saying hello here in the US. If you don't do it, you look like an a-hole. I hate that it's turned into one of those "in our culture it means this, and our culture apparently is more important than theirs because we're America, so it shouldn't' be done" type issues. Dear Americans, please stop being ignorant.
