The Northeast, NY and Philly area, the weather changes so much in the spring. One day it will 80 degrees out and the next it will be 45. Denver and Montreal may not be too pleasent either.

Nothing tops the 90F temps that Tampa got in October last fall...it was over 100F on that metal floor in GA! (Normally Tampa is in the 60F-70F range that time of year...)

Please don't remind me  It was actually quite a bit cooler 3 or 4 days after the concert. Too bad it didn't happen on Oct 9. I got lots of water from security though,,,they were great about that.

Honestly I prefer it being cooler than warmer during these shows. The thought of summer shows in some of these cities was not very appealing to me.

Personally I think they will do an Australian/Japan/New Zealand tour in the spring...take a couple of weeks off while the claws are being shipped to the US, where the tour will start in either SLC or Anaheim as originally planned (possibly Mexico City) then the tour will go as planned with a SA leg added after that.

although maybe I take that back as I think I remember Jake saying they were going to leave a claw in Australia or NZ so maybe that would have to be the last stop.

just saw that Gorillaz is replacing U2 at Glastonbury... What a lame replacement IMO. I know it's kinda short notice but.. even Coldplay (there I said it) would be better.

This is turning into a "planning for 2011" thread.

On the plus side, I'm glad that the band and everyone else is expecting a fully healthy Bono to be back in the saddle sooner rather than later.

The rumored dates for South America in March make more sense that scheduling them after the North American leg. March is still Summer in the southern hemisphere, whereas holding those dates off until June or July puts them into Winter which creates the same weather issues that is forcing U2 have to hold off until April to reschedule the North American shows.

Concerts In North America in April is too early.

Weather would be an issue...outside of California,of course.

You got to remember that Popmart started in April in the US, specifically on April 25th, and the Spring dates were all in outdoor stadiums. They can start it in mid to late April and stretch it into early June. They'll be able to play at Glastonbury in late June and maybe add some additional European dates, which had already been rumored for 2011.

We saved the $25 by parking over at the local mall a mile or so from the stadium...and then spent at LEAST $30 or so buying water and drinks...it was still an amazing show!

Gorillaz should go over real well with the Glastonbury audience. Their new album recently debuted at #2 in the UK and they haven't played any UK dates so far, other than small warmup shows. They apparently went over well as Coachella headliners last month. Damon Albarn was just picked by Q readers as the #4 front man of all time, so he's well liked in the UK. Plus, getting to see 2 members of The Clash playing together on stage should be great.

I'm equally disappointed about this replacement. I won't be going anywhere near the Pyramid stage on Friday now. The thing that gets me is that its coming across as though Gorillaz approached Glastonbury, not the other way around. You've just lost the biggest draw at a festival for years and seemingly make no effort to get a decent replacement. Maybe if I gave Michael Eavis a ring before Damon Albarn I'd have got the gig :hmm:

I think there's a good chance that they'll want to have the N.A. leg wrap up before a potential Glastonbury gig,so that they won't have to travel over the atlantic back and forth in a middle of the tour like it was schedule for this year.

So mid-June could be the last show for the N.A. leg

These new 2011 tour rumours look promising in terms of wrapping up the whole tour at a triumphant Glastonbury headline slot! I shall start the dreaming now!
