Our department's director at work was thinking about planning a Vegas trip for her 40th birthday in late October. She couldn't figure out why everything was so expensive that week, and then realized it was the U2 concert.

She loves U2 and is very bummed they're not coming to Seattle, so now she's doubly pissed at Bono and the band.

As of today my hubby and I are getting custody of our 2 month old grandson, so I guess his first road trip is going to be to Vegas. That will seriously cut into casino time.

The stage is huge, I had to point my camera up 90 degrees to get a pic of the top

Booked my hotel...at...wait for it...the Gold Spike in Downtown Vegas. I'm going cheap since I'm only going to be there overnight and it's $30. The plan is now to drive in Friday, concert, drive back to LA Saturday, football game, concert Saturday. If my mom changes her mind, we'll go high class.

It's nice to finally get the vacation approval! I haven't got mine yet, but I'm not worried as my supervisor that approves the vacation requests is excited for me to be going. Yesterday she asked me if all my flights were booked & "Did you get the seat sale?" (she sent me a link to Southwest Airlines the other day) So I'm not worried.

oh my god...I stayed there for the Vertigo tour......good luck.

It was so wrong, the elevator itself is scary and the people in the "lobby"...yikes.

LA, so it's either a 4 hour drive or 45 minute flight. I'm still debating cause flights are around 120, plus airport parking plus figuring out how to get around vegas. But since I have a FULL schedule Saturday the flight looks tempting.
