He looks better...at this point, I don't think he's changing the glasses. :|

In other news, Live Nation's St. Louis office is giving local companies U2-themed cupcakes. Do they come with complimentary tickets? :hmm:

Noticed on Ticketmaster today that most of the Vip party package tickets for Omaha are now standard ticket price or platI’m price there are a lot of seats left for that show. I am hoping it doesn’t get cancelled

i still think it'scrazy and awesome that U2 can play a show and the next day we can watch videos of every song.

blackout really impressed me. the studio version doesn't do much for me but the live version was pretty great, even though it's pretty much the same.

i liked 13 a lot too, but that's one of my favorites on the album.

the ocean and iris - wow!

acrobat and wild horses were both excellent, but the macphisto bit before acrobat was not good.

did the crowd seem kinda dead to anyone else? maybe it's just me, or the videos.

Sooooo I'm binge watching videos right now. Random thoughts:

Love is All We Have Left / The Blackout - just as I had hoped for. The perfect opener for this tour.
Lights of Home - Always preferred the album version (the strings kind of bore me), but it's placement is good.
All Because of You - Surprised at the band being so into it...it was quite energetic.
HMTMKMKM Intermission - Interesting piece, but I wonder how long will it be before they switch it for another one?
Acrobat - I wish Bono was "in time" with the rest of the band. But other than that, EPIC. Edge was actually on fire, nailed the solo. I hope they don't drop it - worth the wait.
You're the Best Thing About Me - They gave this song the Every Breaking Wave treatment. Electric version, please.
SATS - Yay for a Pop song, boo for acoustic. Come on, boys.
GOOYOW / American Soul - In my opinion, the show's low point - but knowing U2, it'll stay like that.
Wild Horses - Nice encore opener, sounded great. Please keep it.
Love is Bigger - Loved this one.
13 - The lightbulb coming out of the replica of Bono's house was a nice touch, but other than that...an ok closer. How about playing Streets right after it?

While it's not the best setlist ever, I'm proud of them for continuing to put emphasis on new material. For future shows, I hope they slip Streets in (I'm still not over it, deal with it) and constantly rotate All Because of You, Elevation, Vertigo and Desire with other songs. They did a great job giving the production a "touch up".

The macphisto bit would have been better if the technology worked correctly. It was strange watching it with the animation cycling on & off at random.

There was one point last night where it felt quieter than it should be. All-in-all, it seemed like everyone was into it.

I feel the show was very strong.

The show is the loudest I've ever heard, and you can't understand half of what Bono says

5 stars

Anyone know what the beginning/band-comes-out-to-it song is? It seems a bit U2ish, Radioheadish, and "Bittersweet Symphony"esque...?

It's Winter Beats by I Break Horses, from the very good album Hearts.

Watched some Tulsa vids and noticed Edge playing on a small platform halfway between stages during Pride. It seemed to be at the outer rim of ga where the floor meets the seating area, possibly on Adam's typical side? Is this new? and is there a similar platform on the opposite side?

Yep, it's new. One on each side of the arena. Adam on Edge's side, Edge on Adam's side.

Here's a description,

location of satellite stages

That was pretty cool. I saw Edge being escorted through the crowd like a boxer and then turned around and saw Adam behind me on a platform.

In St. Louis I ended up being right on the front of the ropes they put up as Edge moved from e-stage to the satellite, so he passed within a foot of me. Didn't even realize he hadn't gone to main stage until I moved from the e-stage a bit into Pride.

Red Flag Day sounds great live. Forget any rotation, this song should absolutely be a staple of every concert....it even has a logical segue into The Ocean with the "baby let's get in the water" ending.

No bootlegs available to download yet that I can see. I+E had one available not long after the first show. Well, you could rip the audio from a full video of the St Louis show, but that's not quite the same.

seemed like the crowd liked it. Even sounded like the crowd started singing along which is great. Just such a good tune. I really hope it sticks.
Bring back Horses, drop Desire or Elevation or One.

#DropElevation

Yep.

I reckon they should bring back Streets - it's just one of those moments in a U2 gig that never gets old, always epic.

I'm all for them digging out the deep cuts and mixing up the setlist, but I'd prefer them to drop Vertigo/Elevation/Beautiful Day and re-add Streets personally.
