Is this on top of those Iggy Pop collaborations? I'd been noticing a lot of unfamiliar (to me) Underworld tracks cropping up on Youtube but it didn't occur to me that they weren't just obscure tracks from past decades.

It's separate from that, it's this thing called the Drift series released in weekly 'episodes' for a month at a time. They're onto the 3rd installment now, a collaboration or two in it.

There's no real physical release, each series has been uploaded to Spotify as an EP of sorts after its completion. I have been really enjoying this vein of creative form from them, a lot of these tracks have been terrific.

The new Chemical Brothers album is meant to be quite good, too.

I listened to it last night, it's definitely quite good and I'll be coming back to it again soon.

Right. I've probably listened to some of these tracks without even realising it. Occasionally I start in on Underworld and it will throw up any number of tracks that don't immediately strike me as being from albums I know.

Listening to the new Chemical Brothers now. Thank you for mentioning that this was out! Excellent Saturday night driving across the city music.

TIL, the gargoyle on the cover of Chronic Town is/was on the Notre Dame cathedral.

Man, I just listened to "Gardening at Night" the other day. I didn't know that gargoyle was from Notre Dame. Hope it survived the fire.

Best Coast's first two albums are very evocative of Hey Now! by Oasis

She's great live. I had a blast when I caught her last year touring for The Future and the Past.

And for as much as I hate meghan Trainor and her skinny shaming, I am all about the Lizzo train.

Adele has divorced her husband, so let's all prepare for another onslaught.

Surprise album tomorrow for sure.

Album title is: 25%

Surprised there are no reactions to the new CRJ single. More promising than the last couple songs she previewed.

The new Madonna single was underwhelming. A decent, atmospheric track with some non-pandering Latin flavor, but for a lead single it doesn't have enough of a hook. And it seems like a terrible choice for an album opener.

Will have to check out the new CRJ.

As for new Madonna, I like the song. Quite catchy, and it doesn’t sound as mainstream as other pop/Latin pop tracks making the rounds, which is refreshing.
Wonder how the rest of the album is going to sound like.

I spent about 10 minutes this morning trying to rank Biffy Clyro albums best to worst. Very difficult process. But I think I’ve settled on this order:

Puzzle [emoji3456]
Opposites
Vertigo of Bliss
Only Revolutions
Ellipsis
Infinity Land
Blackened Sky

Tough putting Blackened Sky last because the first 3 tracks and 57 are phenomenal for a debut album.

My top 2 albums could be switched too.

The only Biffy Clyro song I've ever heard was 'Mountains' which got an awful lot of mainstream airplay a decade ago.

It’s criminal that they’re not more well known in the states. But it’ll be nice when they tour because I’ll get to see them in a smaller venue.

Maybe you should create a separate thread for this band, so people who care can go directly to it, and people like me can put it on their ignore list.

No. I read about the bands you like that I don’t care about and don’t complain.

This has been a ridiculously slow year. Only Deerhunter and Toro y Moi have been in consistent rotation for me.
