That one guy (elfa???) is reaching out to him and Bono looks ready to punch him in the face. It's a natural response.

Well that one guys looks like he's trying to mash his balls with his fist

Edit: Bah, you changed your post, now I look like a crazy person

You know, I really hate early Animal Collective (aka fluorescent white kids making miscellaneous hippie noises while playing acoustic guitar with one hand over a bed of gurgling sounds), but I really, really love Loch Raven. I've got to think that shit would sound amazing next to Kid A's title track.

Come on guys, I'm bored to death at work here and my internet's not working so good, someone needs to keep me up to speed on this rumor :tsk:

I think it was just a facebook meme. I always check before posting something but others end up looking silly.

Bloke at work reckons his two sons will turn out to be gay because they've been around boobs their entire lives and will be desensitised to females.
I chuckled.

Also! How are are there people who prefer to hear NLOTH songs live in concert than songs from AB? I could almost understand if they would prefer to hear that the band are playing NLOTH songs at shows they aren't attending, which would still be ridiculous, but who would want to hear the band play 10 tracks from NLOTH live, in person, when you could hear EBTTRT, The Fly, UTEOTW and more?

Because it was a tour to support a new album AND I don't want U2 to become a nostagia act (only playing music from 20 fucking years ago is a hallmark of a nostalgia act) AND I liked most of the NLOTH songs they played.

So there.

I agree with all of this, awesome fucking show though, no real complaints other than wowy really, REALLY needs to be retired...

Also, Zooropa was pretty much worth the price of admisson. Its a shame most of the people had no clue what was going on...

Indeedly do.
Plus, I've already heard most of the Achtung Baby live on previous tours. It's then nice to hear something new.

I understand that if you're a new fan and just seeing U2 live for the first time this tour, that you want to have as many of the old songs as possible. But that would imply U2 would always need to play the same old songs again and again, because every time there would be people for whom it would be their first ever U2 show. (To make it more general, replace U2 with any other band in this argument if you want)

Wow....WOWY sounded amazing to me both times I heard it this tour, even moreso the second time.

Maybe they dont feel the need to give it their all in Toronto? No idea... Out of the three times i have seen it here on this tour (a small sample size, I realize) one performace was decent the other two (including last night) sounded like Bono would rather be doing anything other than that - he rushed through most of it and barely sang at all, it was more of a fast mumble...

Despite Elfa's complaining, I'm glad the show was good.

Joyful, if you're out there, I randomly started watching a show on Netflix last night called Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. Based on the description, I assumed it was a typical show about nutrition and the like, so I legitimately laughed out loud when a guy breaks out my exact juicer about 2 minutes into it. The entire movie was essentially a love letter to juicing and its benefits. You should watch, if you haven't seen it already. Nothing you don't already know, most likely, but it's still pretty uplifting.

I will be seeing Explosions in the Sky and No Age for free in two days, starting to get excited. Been listening to a ton of Explosions.

Elfa, I hope you had a great time too. Sorry we didn't manage to get a spot close by. It was nice to get to meet you though. Also, my phone died from all the boredom in line about halfway through the show. Maybe next time we can grab a beer or something

Translation: Don't ever try to contact or come near me again.

I'm partial to Campfire Songs and Spirit They're Gone simply because AC had not yet reached the stage where they felt compelled to layer as many sounds as possible. The songs are able to breathe, much like Loch Raven, which I really love. Albums like Strawberry Jam feel claustrophobic to me on account of the multitude of ideas stuffed into the individual tracks.

I was wondering where this was going and why I was getting a shout-out about something called Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. So, whew. I'll check it out so I'll have new sources of information to scare people with.

Hahahaha, sorry, I didn't think of it that way. Yeah, I think you'll enjoy it. For one of these "eating healthy is good" type shows, it's done extremely well.
