i got my beatles tunes mixed up...i was thinking of "let it be". i remember they used the little girl during the video segment.

they also used 'the first time' quite a bit too.

it kicked ass with each song they used.

Yes, but Help wasn't used that way. The snippet was typically AIWIY.

Still looks bad on paper if you ask me, but sounded great when they did it.

if anyone has the NFL network, they are airing the rams/pats super bowl. i'm pretty sure they will air the halftime.

it is 830p eastern time and the game is at the end of the 1st quarter. so halftime may be around 915p eastern time (615p pacific)

I like the whole Pride/MLK/Streets thing.... I liked the MLK/Streets during the Super Bowl

They did air the halftime show when I saw the replay of that SuperBowl on NFL Network a few months ago. I was just curious if they would show it and they did.

Interesting. Is that rehearsal list taken from just one rehearsal or is it an amalgamation of all Vertigo rehearsals? Just wondering because Electric Co and An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart aren't listed, and they must have been rehearsed at one time or another.

Okay, while I was typing that, I realized that indoor rehearsals aren't conducive to overhearing what's being rehearsed, so we may be getting a better indication of what's being played this tour than we did last tour.

That rehearsal setlist is one of the early Vertigo ones. The later ones were very similiar to what was played for the first show in San Diego, although not exact. I think the setlist will take its form for the first show in the next 3 or 4 days.

I have been hearing this on and on and right now I don't want to read back 50 pages, but does the stage rotate like some say it does? I can't wait!

It seems safe to say that they will most likely play The Unforgettable Fire at least.
Yeah...after working this hard on it, it seems doubtful that they'd just drop the song. Judging by how long they've been working on effects, it could even be one of the show's "big moments" (ex. Bono drumming on LAPOE.)
Also: Can redbook or anyone else "in the know" confirm what the "Space Chat" is about? I assume it's one of Bono's mid-show speeches, but, beyond that, I've got nothing.

I gotta see some more uppitty songs like Gone, Exit, God part 2, Last Night on earth. I am seeing them in LA Rose bowl so by then they should have changed a few songs.

I do not know, but: U2 have played the TUF->Vertigo sequence three (!) times tonight... This is a pattern, at least for today and that is all, I want to say!

Well. as awesome as it is, TUF could be one of the more obscure songs of the night to the majority in attendance. So, they follow it up with a sure-thing like Vertigo.

Reminds me of follling An Cut Dubh/Into the Heart with Beautiful Day - just to get the crowd back.

Oh god. Let's hope they abandon that idea quickly.

why is it so bad? the drums in UF are quite beefy. If larry keeps the beat going through the outtro, it may provide an excellent segue into vertigo. Sort of like I threw a brick into a day without me

I know theres some peeps here that dont care for unknown caller but i believe its the best solo edge has done; Its long, has two parts to it(ying yang) it shreds tons of emotion from me everytime i hear it. I didnt like horizon at all beside the first track when i first heard it, but now it has grown on me and love nloth, moment of surrender, unknown caller, breathe.

Beautiful Day didn't sound ridiculously out of place after ACD/ITH, though. UF isn't that obscure, it's on the Best Of after all. Rather than Vertigo, something like WOWY would work fantastically after UF for drawing back any casual fans who may have been inexplicably lost by witnessing the live incarnation of Sheer Awesome.

Maybe they'll make Vertigo not sound jarring, but there are plenty of options that seem much better on paper. I think the previously rehearsed order of UF --> COBL seemed good.

Maybe they'll come up with a highly atmospheric Eno-esque arrangement of Vertigo to follow TUF with.

Or maybe they'll make TUF really rocky.
