Actually not a bad place to gamble. You can sit at the bar in the Hooters restaurant inside the casino and play 25 cent black jack and get free beers. One of my favorite Vegas things to do. :D

25 cent blackjack!!!!????

the rush of gambling without the losing of real money????

really??

It's actually the only casino on the Strip that I'm "up" on lifetime. I think I've got almost $300 of their money (net). So I never can go back there or I might jinx that.

:reject:

Maybe that's TMI.

Maybe I've been to Vegas too many times.

Well, it's machine blackjack (and video poker) but it's cheap. Whereas it's to your benefit to play the machine's limit on poker (bigger jackpots) it makes absolutely no difference on machine blackjack so you might as well play the minimum. The last time I was there I sat and played for about 2 & 1/2 hours, drank lots of beers, and spent about $4 total.

There's actually an entire Hooters Hotel and Casino.

I have a friend who works there

A lot of bars have a minimum now. They want to see you put in a $20 and actually play the max in order to sit and drink for free. If you play on the cheap at the floor machines just to drink for free please tip the cocktail servers (about $1 per drink is average). They work hard and it's the least you can do. Sorry, guys. I had to say it.

No, it has to be said.
The better you tip the cocktail waitresses, the nicer they are and the faster they come with the drinks.

And tip your hotel maids, too. It's a cheap form of security for your hotel room, and they really appreciate it.

as in, they will burglarize your room if you don't tip them? That's more blackmail than tip:wink:

Anyone interested in stadium pics?

The stadium as you come down the street from the strip: On the left there is a huge wetlands preserve :slant:

No. No. No.

I just mean be nice to your maid, and they'll watch out for you.

We stayed at Paris in Vegas for a week once and had the same maid for 6 days. By day 4, she would bring us stuff from the suites that didn't get used, a fruit basket, a nut assortment dish, and one other thing I forgot.

Just be nice to the help.

Good advice. Always tip! Always cash in for $20 (or more)! I've never had a bartender check to see exactly how much I was betting, though. But that's not saying they don't do it, I just haven't experienced it. Especially at Hooters, because if you're in the restaurant bar, you'll probably end up ordering a burger or some wings or something and they are less concerned about it. I'm not a big machine gambler - I usually end up there to take a break from losing all my cash at the craps table.

ok, I guess I've ventured off-topic - back to U2...

A lot of people literally live on their tips

True.
This could be a totally dif thread, but I hate people that question the tipping issue.
I travel very frequently and I always leave about $3 a night for the maid. I do notice that they appreciate it. ......a few extra chocolates by my pillow are a good sign. :)
