That combo sounded OK enough. (To my ears at least).

Mixed with the album version, not so much so....

I know I'm probably alone on this (judging for the posts above), but I'll say it any way, I don't want the backing track to be changed to album key.

Yikes, didn't mean to start a firestorm...I must admit I agree with Miringeltje in that we should just kinda 'go for it' without a huge production...but to be fair, it would be good also to keep it in album key, cause that's what everybody knows and has sung along in their showers, cars, etc, to all along...

didnt re-sing it or anything, just dropped it. (so it might sound weird, but just sing to it and your timing will be ok for whoever ends up trying to mix it with that "no vocals" edit )

Youre right, the takes have to be in the same key as whatever version we use....so if we use album key, there are two choices, fairly easy...

you can either re-sing it in album key (preferable) to the new version

or... I can drop your take a slight bit to match. Raw vocal samples are easy to drop with almost no discernable loss of sound quality...to the average ear anyways..

i'd say use that vocal-less edit...one thing i noticed about your original track was it was clipping a bit..so i did a bit to it to level it off without killing the ambience of the guitar and drums.....let me know if you have any issues with lining up everyone's takes timing wise, i dont mind dropping them on either, im really enjoying this stuff
