Round Eleven

is now open. Please vote by clicking in the circle next to the album you like the LEAST on the electronic poll above. Thank you.

This is a TWO day timed electronic poll.

Instructions:

Voting

Each round please vote off the album you like the least. The album with the most amount of votes is the the least popular for this round. Voting is anonymous. Its not compulsory to state your preference in the thread.

Next round all the albums are listed again, minus the album that receives the most amount of votes this round. And again please vote for your least favourite album from the selection.

And on we go for many rounds until theres only two albums left. In the last round you vote for your favourite out of the two. The last album standing is the most popular (or the least unpopular depending on how you look at it).

Tie Breaker
In the event of a tie, a 24 hour poll will be run. This poll will consist solely of the tied albums.

In the event of a tied tie breaker, votes from all previous rounds will be tallied to determine a grand total of votes for the tied abums.

In the event of a grand total of votes resulting in a draw, all of the tied albums will be eliminated from the competition.

Okay. I just wandered off, changed the babys nappy & clothes, put a load of clothes washing in the machine, put a load of clothes drying in that machine, washed the dishes, and returned and NOONE has voted!

my vote goes to The Joshua Tree......
the first time in the entire survivor that i have voted for one of my top 5 u2 albums............

Can I vote people off Interference because they voted for and eliminated UF?

It's a foregone conclusion that HTDAAB will be kicked out so I'll vote for the album I want to vote for, the album I voted for way back in round one, Achtung Baby.

I am also voting for the same album (HTDAAB) for a long time now..
It's a good album but it's not one of U2's best 3 albums..
I think POP and Uf are way better..

I never thought I'd see this ...

OK, with this survivor reaching its end, I figure I better get my act together and organise my singles survivor. I shall use U2Wanderer.org as my singles resource as no other website even comes close to equalling its depth of information, and we will vote on the entire worldwide single release. That will eliminate listing multiple versions of the same single, just because Country A had a different line three minutes into Track 2.

Here is my proposed format.

Heat 1: Boy era (encompassing 1979-1980)
- U2:3 (Out Of Control)
- Another Day
- 11 O'clock Tick Tock
- A Day Without Me
- I Will Follow

Heat 2: October era (1981-1982)
- Fire
- Gloria
- A Celebration
- I Will Follow (live)

Heat 3: War era (1983)
- New Year's Day
- Two Hearts Beat As One
- Sunday Bloody Sunday
- 40
- I Will Follow (live) [different to October era single]

Heat 4: The Unforgettable Fire era (1984-1986)
- Pride (In The Name Of Love)
- The Unforgettable Fire/Wide Awake In America
[Uh ... yeah. That's it. Short round. Should it stay like this, or does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?]

Heat 5: The Joshua Tree (1987 to March 1988)
- With Or Without You
- I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
- Where The Streets Have No Name
- In God's Country
- One Tree Hill

Heat 6: Rattle And Hum era (April 1988 to 1990)
- Desire
- Angel Of Harlem
- When Love Comes To Town
- All I Want Is You

Heat 7: Achtung Baby era (1991-1992)
- The Fly
- Mysterious Ways
- One
- Even Better Than The Real Thing
- Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses

Heat 8: Zooropa and Passengers era (1993-1996)
- Numb [video single]
- Lemon
- Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
- Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
- Miss Sarajevo

Heat 9: Pop era (1997-1999)
- Discotheque
- Staring At The Sun
- Last Night On Earth
- Please/Popheart EP
- If God Will Send His Angels
- Mofo
- The Sweetest Thing

Heat 10: All That You Can't Leave Behind era (2000-2002)
- Beautiful Day
- Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of [Both releases]
- Elevation
- Walk On [Both releases]
- 7 (Target EP)
- Electrical Storm

Heat 11: HTDAAB era (2004-??)
- Vertigo
- All Because Of You
- Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
[Hopefully we'll have more as the contest progresses]

The winner of each round will make it through to the final of its decade. So here's how the finals round will go.

Preliminary final 1: The eighties
- Winner of heat 1
- Winner of heat 2
- Winner of heat 3
- Winner of heat 4
- Winner of heat 5
- Winner of heat 6

Preliminary final 2: The nineties
- Winner of heat 7
- Winner of heat 8
- Winner of heat 9
- Winner of heat 10
- Winner of heat 11

Now I have two possibilities. One will obviously be quicker than the other.

OPTION ONE
Grand final
- Winner of preliminary final 1
- Winner of preliminary final 2

OPTION TWO
Grand final
- Winner of preliminary final 1
- Runner-up of preliminary final 1
- Winner of preliminary final 2
- Runner-up of preliminary final 2

Thoughts?

Once again, I'm going to say that voting for one album to protect another one is really LAME. The instructions say to vote off the album you like the least.

And if you're not voting for The Bomb in this round, as good as it may be, there is something FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG with you, and your shitty musical taste. We are talking about two of the greatest albums of all time, by any artist.

It's a damned discrace. Go get a lobotomy.

I voted Bomb..I like it and and JT about the same, but Joshua has lasted over time, while HTDAAB has to prove itself in that area.

As for the condescension in this thread....please.

got to be HTDAAB
its good but its not top 3 in my opinion....

if we redo this in 5-10 years time, my opinion might ahve cahgned but at the mo its far too new to displace JT and AB

JT ... the last "american" album on the list

Why JT?
1st step - count all weak songs on all albums -> tie
2nd step - wich "era" I like the last... -> my constant alergy to country music. -> JT
