Bwahaha, I'm looking around for a guy as well. A singles area would be a grand idea.

By the way, can I just say that you girls are all really pretty? I wish we could all meet up in person somewhere sometime-I know we'd all have a blast. :D.

Angela

Yes, I think we need to tell Elvis about our request. Singles Bar at Interference!

And a meet-up would be a blast. I was sad to miss the big Vegas meet-up since I was married at the time to a husband that never wanted to go anywhere but now I am ready... so next time there is an Interference meet-up I am soooo there

Yes! I've missed all the meet ups so let's do it again!

Somewhere in the middle I think..........it was so scary, all the other campers said no way would a tornado hit us, after about 10 minutes I looks behind us, the sky was green and there was this friggin tornado comming at us.....we just had a tent and our jeep, we had to abandon the jeep and run into the bath house. sooooooooo scary.

Funny I live in Vt but have been through 3 tornados in different parts of the us...HATE THEM!!!

The other campers didn't think a tornado would hit? If they aren't from the state, I could see where they might've thought that (although most people know about Tornado Alley), but if they are from the state...

So was it a really big one?

Yeah, they can happen pretty much anywhere, mostly in this part of the country, but still likely elsewhere. And I hate 'em, too. They're about some of the scariest things anyone could experience.

There aren't any pay phones anymore!" Later, we noticed a pay phone around the corner from where this coversation happened, and we wanted to go back and find him.

Random Experience: I once broke down on a lonely road and sputtered to a country store. It was Sunday night and it was the only thing open and it was closing. It was summer, around 8:30 and getting dark. I had my first 2 kids with me. This lady came in the store and tried to kill the manager because he charged her late fees on her videotape(it was one of those hick stores that sold a bit of everything because nothing else was around.) He pulled a gun on her. I was terrified they'd shoot each other and we'd all get shot. He finally ran her off. He told me we couldn't stay there because he was closing up and going home, so he offered to drive us 10 miles to the nearest 7-11 where I could wait for my relatives to come 50 miles to save us. He still had his gun in his belt and I was terrified. I didn't know him, what if he was a killer? Having no choice, I rode with him and he was pretty nice. My brothers came later and got us and fixed the car, but by then it was nearly 1 AM. I didn't get home until 2 and my husband was furious and accused me of all sorts of things. (I had tried to call him but he was in the back room watching TV and never heard it) It was hard to get him to stop yelling so I could explain. To this day I refer to that night as The Ordeal. Since then, I never leave home without AAA Gold membership, 100 miles of towing.

Most embarrassing moment: I took a class in college, the History of Rock and Roll. It's the class that I discovered U2 in. I was a hopeless case musically. I grew up on heavy metal and I was currently listening to the pop station that plays all the boy bands. We had to go around the room and say what music we listened to growing up and what music we had in our stereo. I said KISS and various other heavy metal acts. That got a few laughs but then when my professor asked me what I currently had in my CD player I said...I can't even believe I owned it....but I said I currently had the Backstreet Boys in my CD player in my car and the whole damn class turned around and looked at me and then laughed....laughed a lot. I couldn't believe I said that. I was planning on making something up but it just came out:( I was the "boy band" girl for a few weeks :reject: But weeks later I started listening to U2 and that Backstreet Boy CD was never played again.

Arw9797- Your embarassing moment just totally cracked me up

I look at it like we are just catching up to Bono and them anyways

:(...sucks that you got laughed at for what you listened to (I was once a BSB fan myself, so don't feel bad :)). You enjoyed that music, that should be all that matters.

But glad to hear that that's how you got into U2. And that sounds like a fun class-history of rock and roll, eh? I'd love to take a class like that! :D.

Yes they were from the state of Iowa, which they said is alittle above tornado alley, and the locals said they have never really seen one near them. I don't know how big it was actually, probably an F2-3....we were kind of lucky because it was still in its stages of forming when it hit us. But becasue the land is so flat we could see it pound the town next door.
THe largest on I have been in was in Florida an f-5...it was a mile wide and that one formed off the lakes behind my grandparents house, wen't over us and killed lots of people in the next town...Winter Haven. That was probably the scariest experience I have ever had. Even though it didnt' touch down it blew the windows out of the house and sucked the air right out of your lungs.

Haha, yeah I have it too, thought it's not very factual at all. The chronology is ok, but they've exaggerated or completely misinterpreted certain events in her life....anyway, not that you guys care, but she has a new book just out this December, I need to buy it.

Oh, and Amanda (now that I'm learning everyone's name!) how was the Holocaust Museum? I've wanted to go there for a long time, my mom has spent days there (she has some weird fascination with it). I was up for a scholarship which had one prize of going there for a few days, but it conflicted with an annual family vacation. I'm particularly interested b/c my grandpa was part of a group that liberated a concentration camp, and also had to deal with 2000 bodies. I have all of the pictures he took there (for all those people out there who think the Holocaust was a hoax!), but he died when I was young so I've never been able to get the story from him.
