I LOVE his smile  :cute:

*happy sigh* :cute:
He's got the *best* smile!
And I love how expressive he is!

Note to self: buy another couple of the big Zellers' totes - they're twice as deep as the Rubbermaid ones and hold much more stuff, even if they're a pain in the ass to carry home  Boy did filling that up ever clear out the area around my computer desk (where all the yarn I'd wound was piled up)!

Now it's back to the 'frog' pile to undo more stuff I won't finish... (and help, I have a bad case of 'startitis' I'm fighting, with the dark thyme and off-white yarn that's sitting here next to me... remind me that I'm not quite half-done the 'rents bedspread and the last thing I need to do is start something else, please? )

Sorry Drea - I can't tell you that, at least if you expect me to practice what I preach

I have so many little projects going on, all in a state of half completion :reject:

Same here - another reason why I don't need to start another one  Not to mention the whole "barely touched the packing" thing...

Have I just been missing her?

I can't remember when the last time we talked was ... It wasn't a REAL long time, but it's been a couple of days, at least since I've heard anything from her

Haven't seen her on since the big religion discussion... *thinks* Tues night? Not that that's saying much, as last night was stitch'n'bitch and I wasn't really around here  Which reminds me, there was a song I was going to post that kind of related to that discussion... anyone object to me posting it now? ;)

This is another Dar Williams song, same cd as February that I posted a few days ago :)

The Christians and The Pagans

Amber called her uncle, said "We're up here for the holiday,
Jane and I were having Solstice, now we need a place to stay."
And her Christ-loving uncle watched his wife hang Mary on a tree,
He watched his son hang candy canes all made with red dye number three.
He told his niece, "It's Christmas Eve, I know our life is not your style,"
She said, "Christmas is like Solstice, and we miss you and it's been awhile."

So the Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table,
Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able,
And just before the meal was served, hands were held and prayers were said,
Sending hope for peace on earth to all their gods and goddesses.

The food was great, the tree plugged in, the meal had gone without a hitch,
Till Timmy turned to Amber and said, "Is it true that you're a witch?"
His mom jumped up and said, "The pies are burning," and she hit the kitchen,
And it was Jane who spoke, she said, "It's true, your cousin's not a Christian,"
"But we love trees, we love the snow, the friends we have, the world we share,
And you find magic from your God, and we find magic everywhere,"

So the Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table,
Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able,
And where does magic come from? I think magic's in the learning,
'Cause now when Christians sit with Pagans only pumpkin pies are burning.

When Amber tried to do the dishes, her aunt said, "Really, no, don't bother."
Amber's uncle saw how Amber looked like Tim and like her father.
He thought about his brother, how they hadn't spoken in a year,
He thought he'd call him up and say, "It's Christmas and your daughter's here."
He thought of fathers, sons and brothers, saw his own son tug his sleeve, saying,
"Can I be a Pagan?" Dad said, "We'll discuss it when they leave."

So the Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table,
Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able,
Lighting trees in darkness, learning new ways from the old, and
Making sense of history and drawing warmth out of the cold.

(Sorry it took so long, I had to actually type it out  )

Drea - I like that a lot

it reminds me of one of my favorite songs... does anyone mind?
This one is definitely more Christian specific, but still, I think, something anyone here could be interested in somewhat

Actually, some of you may well know it, it's by Jackson Browne - called the Rebel Jesus

I've had Mortal City (the cd both that song and February are on) in my dvd player on repeat basically since I posted February *g* I hadn't listened to it in far too long... In some ways it's more of a winter type cd (at least the title track is)

Yes, it's a Christmas song :)

The Rebel Jesus

All the streets are filled with laughter and light
And the music of the season
And the merchants’ windows are all bright
With the faces of the children
And the families hurrying to their homes
As the sky darkens and freezes
They’ll be gathering around the hearths and tales
Giving thanks for all god’s graces
And the birth of the rebel jesus

Well they call him by the prince of peace
And they call him by the savior
And they pray to him upon the seas
And in every bold endeavor
As they fill his churches with their pride and gold
And their faith in him increases
But they’ve turned the nature that I worshipped in
From a temple to a robber’s den
In the words of the rebel jesus

We guard our world with locks and guns
And we guard our fine possessions
And once a year when christmas comes
We give to our relations
And perhaps we give a little to the poor
If the generosity should seize us
But if any one of us should interfere
In the business of why they are poor
They get the same as the rebel jesus

But please forgive me if I seem
To take the tone of judgement
For I’ve no wish to come between
This day and your enjoyment
In this life of hardship and of earthly toil
We have need for anything that frees us
So I bid you pleasure
And I bid you cheer
From a heathen and a pagan
On the side of the rebel jesus.

I've not heard of it but I'll definitely check it out

Good evening ladies :D

Drea I'm almost finished crocheting a newsboy cap! :hyper: I finished a little one earlier for Mini-cat and she loves it! Its so cute. The one I'm making for me is made out of the old recycled sari yarn. Its multi-colored. It will look great with my hot pink bangs. I shaved my head in honor of it almost being done. :giggle: Just in time for family photos next week.

You found a pattern then :D I've heard the sari yarn's hard to work with, how are you finding it?

Yep I found a pattern, thanks! I also have a pattern for a knitted hat, but it has cables on it and I haven't quite gone there yet. So I decided to do this one first. And I really need to get Cindys scarf done. Mr. Cat even said earlier that I better get her scarf done before it gets to hot to wear it.

The sari yarn definetly turns and twists and is a total bitch to work with, but the effect is really pretty and worth it. But I don't think I would do a sweater or a bag out of it. It would be a real pain.

Sorry, am in a chat window for my RPG, there's a wedding going on (pre-conned for next week, as most of the players are American). Actually, it's the bachelor party, the wedding's being pre-conned on Monday
