Hey Karen!!!!!!!!!!!!

So nice to hear from you! Are you going to the LA shows too? I am going to 11/1 for sure. Have a GA for that. Would like to go to second show too but no ticket yet..

I still have your cell phone number (is that still good? if not email me with a different one.)

I am staying at the Orleans hotel across from the MGM (like a couple of blocks down Tropicana ave).
Let's definitely meet up!

Amy

Hi Amy! Unfortunately I'm not going to the LA shows (unless a friend who is in Korea doesn't make it back in time & whose tickets I'm holding then go to me!) Have faith...tickets can miraculously appear as we all know!

My cell is the same. What's yours? I figure it's changed! Let's for sure meet up, I'd love to see you again! Oooh Orleans.....good location, smart girl!

I'm driving to Vegas. I will be there Thurs noon till Monday afternoon, at the IP. Got GA for 11/4 and cheap seats for 11/5. Let's keep in touch for sure....I'm always here in the crack!

Our flight doesn't get in until about 7:15 Friday night, so it will be a mad dash to the concert.
Saturday we have GA :shifty: but I'm a slot machine whore so I don't think we'll be waiting in the GA line all day.

So why don't we all get together Friday night right after the concert?

I'm posting this in a few of the Vegas threads - I emailed my contact man that does security for MGM, this is what he knows about the GA set-up so far:

GA does not happen very often at the MGM. For U2 GA is the floor. These people will have no seats. They will be standing for the show. There are 1800 GA tickets for U2. Out of the 1800 about 300 will be selected to be in a "pit" close to the stage. The GA people will be segragated and taken to Studios A&B (large rooms near the entrance to the Garden) so they can be
given a wrist band that they must have for the floor.

I will get some info shortly about times for the wrist bands and the other stuff. The best of my knowledge, the doors will open at 6:30 for an 8:00 show.

I think he is just an officer - and I doubt he knows about the Vertigo scanning thing, I assume that is special equipment that PM people bring in? But I'll let you guys know if he passes on more details.

Overall I thought it would be nicer to have actual seats so I didn't have to camp out in Vegas, since there is so much to do. But now knowing they are doing the wristband thing, now I want GA

lol, i stopped myself from typing the words "just an officer" because i have a very, very close friend in casino security and he hates that.

so anyway, this is interesting and i'm curious to see what's going to happen.

unless there's a party somewhere else, i'm going to ghostbar.

i will already be high off of the show, why not go higher?

What's the agenda at Ghostbar for those 2 days?

i'm sorry, forgive me, i honestly don't understand what you mean when you say agenda. do you mean what's going on up there that weekend?

Do you mean by that they will be handing out wristbands to those that line up early to come back later? I'm really curious what the policy will be. Hope it's not total chaos because it's true..the MGM does not do GA often.

No need to appologize...
I was wondering if that bar will be doing any special promotions or events for the weekend....that's all.

i don't think it's the kind of place that has promotions or events. in fact, i would doubt it if they even cared that U2 was in town that weekend. (i think las vegas's ego is even bigger than bono's) i was thinking about calling, though. i will post more if i find anything out.

Is there a dress code at Ghostbar?

i've only ever been there during the week, never on a weekend, but as far as i know, no, there isn't a strict one. i mean, i wouldn't show up in sweats or anything, but you know what i mean. like, jeans would be fine.

That's what it sounds like - but I'm hoping he'll find out an actual time that they plan to set-up to start doling out wristbands.

I have a strong feeling that MGM will go with the wristband plan. It makes sense for the way the venue is set up. I'm hoping this will then allow us to get in more sleep, partying, gambling and socializing! :applaud:

will anyone be trying to meet the band before these two shows. read stories and seen pics of people meeting the band, mainly bono and edge, during the first two legs of the tour.

I hope so too -- as much as I'm willing to stand in line for U2 (so excited), I'm finally 21 and old enough to see Vegas... I'm going to 11/4 concert (have seats in section U2-something (haha)), and have GA for 11/5 (my first), and I would love to be able to have an organized wrist band system... It would allow me to see some more of Vegas, meet other U2 fans, etc, etc... But that's just me! :)

So excited...

I don't have tickets to a vegas show:( but I am planning a weekend to go to Vegas and I decided that would be the weekend to go. I haven't booked a room yet :uhoh:

I was wondering if there are any plans for meeting up with other interferencers? If there's a chance of seeing the band outside the mgm I'll be there for sure.

Advice??

........Are you one of those people (Like me), that has a ticket for Nov 4th, but it's not a GA?....what are your plans?

I'll be hanging out with my sweetheart that day (after driving from OC). I like the idea of an after-concert wing-ding, but my sweet baby niece (ribbons&bows) will be there and she's not yet 21.

I liked the Hard Rock Cafe thing that happened last time (hint hint).

on fridays and saturdays the restaurant at the HRC is only open until midnight and the bar is only open until one. that doesn't leave much time after the shows.

however, the casino is right next door and has bars that never close.
