MTV Asia Hitlist (The MTV Asia HitList Top 20 Chart is compiled from record sales & radio airplay around South East Asia)
Crazy up from 20 to 19 in it's 2nd week on the Asia Chart
In the U.S., Crazy is now playing on 50 on the monitored Adult Top 40 stations, which eclipses Magnificent and GOYB. It also debut on Billboard's Mainstream Adult Top 40 chart last week (the print edition only shows the Top 25) at #24. It's safe to say that Crazy is U2's most successful single off of NLOTH. While it may not reach #1 on Alternative or make the United World Chart, GYOB did that basically because it was the first single from U2, and it fell FAST in most places (but it's strangely been in France's Hot 100 chart since it was released).
On Alternative Radio, Crazy is now on 42 stations, which also eclipses Magnificent and it's still rising. As it is on Triple A and Rock.
I guess I'm saying it's U2's biggest hit off of NLOTH, here in the U.S., based on it's longevity and the total number of formats it's charting on right now. As for Asia, GYOB and Magnificent made it well into the MTV "all-inclusive" Top 20 chart, so not sure if Crazy is going to be U2's biggest single from NLOTH in that part of the world or not...guess we'll see. If they tour in Asia and release a 4th single to coincide, then who knows.
I'm also guessing that with the tour in the U.S., the SNL appearance, the video doing well...that Crazy still has room to rise here in the States. It is being played on well over 125 monitored radio stations right now, and does seem to be like the type of song that could cross over into Pop Mainstream. Blackberry Ad perhaps could have been delayed a bit in the U.S., as I haven't seen it lately, but who knows.
