eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour 2018 - Rumors & General Discussion

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

That arena in CT is very small. Less than 10,000. Strange indeed, but hopefully they're not done adding shows! GIVE ME COLUMBUS!!!! ;)

Similar feelings but damn what a ride to deal with ahead of a holiday weekend.

Yes, this is an old man traffic complaint.
I don't drive so I need to figure out buses... It's a casino so I know they exist from here to there, just need to figure that out. I would be skipping this if it wasn't the holiday!

I wonder if they'll do a 2nd show in CT? I'm sure a show at that casino on July 4th would be a big draw. Plus the venue is small, easier to sell out. Also, it seems to be at a population nexus between NYC, Hartford, Providence and even Boston.

Argh, I don't even want to think about it... And I'd have to do both since that would bring my total U2 performance total to 100 with the Milan shows I'm doing!

I agreed at first and thought there was no way the reports were true. But now I think it sort of makes sense. It targets the NE/NY area where they were so popular without having to add an arena.
It's still weird. It's not reeeally in either market. It's more at the Nexus of Hartford and Providence than anything. Like... nobody from NYC metro or Boston metro is going to this show unless they're a huge fan who likely would have traveled anywhere. It's a solid 2 1/2 hours from Manhattan and 2 hours from Boston. And on the night before the 4th of July? I mean... maybe they're going for the Martha's Vineyard/Newport holiday crowd? I dunno.

I know Springsteen has played there... so it's not odd that u2 would play the venue, just odd that they'd randomly add it at the end of the tour in lieu of, say, another Boston show or a 4th MSG gig. Or somewhere else in the states not in the northeast.

Bizarre that they haven't promoted this at all. No U2.com email, nothing on Facebook - but the show is there on the U2.com tour page, though without the usual PACKAGES and TICKETS links.

How the heck did anyone even hear about this?

Interesting addition, but hey...first Connecticut show in more than a decade.

Wow! I woke up to this news this morning - I'm so fired up for this, I have to believe this will sell out in minutes so I wonder if they'll add a show?

Only guess would be they can maybe get a bigger pay day out of the casino?
But its a much smaller venue than either Garden.
Good building to see a show.

Conflicted about this Mohegan show - works because I'm 45 minutes from the arena but kinda sad that they need to play this type of arena now. Ticketmaster shows the rear of the stage blacked out so a small arena is even smaller now.

I can't be sure PopArtist but look up Shoreline East Train Service map I think there's a stop right at the casino. For the first time in a long time I'm under an hour drive to see U2 from my house!

With the amount of tix the casino will hold for its high rollers, minutes may be generous.
GA will be interesting, doubt the majority of high rollers would be interested in those, so maybe the casino will be holding back lowers and GA will actually go on sale.
Would have been a good time to have an unused experience code...oh well.

Unforgettable Fire have played the same venue as U2 before, but normally it's an old venue that U2 played in the early 80s, and normally U2 played there first...

I caught UF this past weekend and they sounded the best I ever heard.... Did you program the video images for the screen behind them? They were fantastic, really added to the show... I especially liked the images of Edge and Adam playing with them and the desert scenes during Streets.

I didn't even think of this.... shoot!

How bizarre! I would've bet a hundred bucks that there wouldn't be any additional Leg1 shows announced at this point. And even then, I NEVER would have guessed Uncasville or Omaha. Wow....

The majority of the images behind them are my creations (or just stuff that I've collected over the years for use in shows)... but I had to hang up my faux Willie Williams spurs last July when my family moved to DC.

Still do their website, though. Will get to see them for the first time in forever on St. Patrick's Day. Can't friggin wait.

I'm sure Mohegan is paying through the nose to get them... but I have a hard time seeing a bigger pay day at a 10k venue vs their take on another show at MSG or TD Garden, unless the Mohegan Tribe is just planning on taking a hit on the concert in order to draw more people into the blackjack pit (which is possible, but still)

Omaha? They're going away for the previous standard break after this tour, if not longer.
