I was considering signing up for this. And then I remembered I have terrible musical knowledge.

Sorry I'm not trying to roll my life experience into a pretentious, 2+ hour long playlist, but I did everything asked in the first post
LemonMelon said:I can't believe we still have two weeks to go. With the way we're all talking and with the progress we made tonight, it seems like it could be starting tomorrow.
LemonMacPhisto said:
Well, you, Mike, and I will be starting soon.

Very cool. These are the two newcomer lists I'm most interested in as well.
Axver said:Pre-tournament? Sounds fun. Hell, if Canadiens wins, I'll give him automatic entry to Desert Island IV if he wants it.

I hope he wins it.

can i play too™
elevate my thoughtplane?™
get an "automatic bid"™?
LemonMelon said:I'm looking forward to yours, AtomicBono, because I'm certain I will hear some things I'm unfamiliar with (Pla because I have no idea what she has up her sleeve ). My Desert Island IV list is like a kaleidoscope of sound...it's massive...40 songs.
AtomicBono said:
the only problem with mine is almost all the songs are from the 00's i don't listen to enough older music...
LemonMelon said:
Yes, yes, this definitely will be interesting. Nothing wrong with modern music, but your list sounds like it'll be on the fringe of interference taste.

i'm almost considering changing it to add some Television and maybe Led Zep. i dunno. I've got VU, Hendrix, Beatles, and Joy Divison. everything else is modern
I'll definitely have stuff that most people here have not listened to, but a lot of it is stuff most interfers like. hopefully it will be the right mix of new and familiar for people
Axver said:Hey, could anyone send me an MP3 of U2's Exit WITHOUT the One Tree Hill coda? I'm thinking of modifying my tracklist but my copy of Exit has "oh great ocean" at the start and that just does not work.

Thank you!
AtomicBono said:interesting to look back at all the old playlists...everyone and their mom picked Don't Panic and Across the Universe and Say Hello to the Angels in fact a lot of my songs have been used at some point or another
LemonMelon said:
You're allowed to reuse songs again from earlier tournaments. IMP and Lance both used The Golden Age by Beck in the first and second tournaments, respectively.
(Don't Panic is on my Desert Island IV playlist )

i know you're allowed, i just don't want to seem unoriginal or whatever. I might go with a different Beatles song... they kind of have a lot to choose from
Mountain Dew Ma said:so where am i sending
my eventual submission?™
LemonMelon said:I feel like I'm prostituting myself this time out because, frankly, my list is very similar to the taste of the average B&C-goer. Almost cloyingly so.
Screwtape, you've seen my list...what do you think?

I liked it a lot. I think you really hit upon a mood. A lot of the stuff isn't my favorite kind of music but the way it worked together sort of gave it a location (if that makes sense) that made the whole thing really enjoyable. It has a neat sort of bar quality. You did an excellent job!
