B&C Best of 2017 - Discussion Thread

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
This is a U2 Forum and all, but I find this #4 placement utterly ridiculous, for the record.

Haha fuck, both of those quotes made me laugh. I don't remember seeing either of those when they were originally posted.

U2 rules.

Pretty happy about the top 3. The top 5 would have been perfect without SOE.

I have never seen that order anywhere else on the internet, I'll say that much. Really interesting list.

I can't even get mad about it since we're on their message board. At least it didn't win.

SOI placed 3rd on the 2014 list, for the record. Shuttlecock is slipping.

Blah blah, God this is so fucking boring. Glad it's over with. Hopefully none of you will be inconvenienced by U2 releasing an album again any time soon so you all can find something else to bitch and moan about. Holy shit.

We're keeping the tradition alive!!

If we are all still here in 2 years, the album of the decade list will be fun.

That first clause is key. Just three albums managed over five voters. 15 and above is mainly just 1-2 votes. Going back to that 2014 thread that LM quoted Ashley from is revealing.

I agree - it's really sad to see the gradual death of this website and not "seeing" people whose screen names I came to know over the last 15 years or so.

Dude, chill out. 5 people voted for it in a tiny poll on a dead music forum.

Like literally, S.O.E. is that high on the list because I gave it a bunch of points.

Why would you actually give a shit about a poll where anything I have to say has any serious bearing?

Pretty good top 5, bar U2, indeed. But DAMN is still nowhere near GKMC or TPAB for me.

Very happy that LOS CAMP! scored a top 10 finish.

The list is a little on the white side, despite Kendrick at #1.

I'm curious whether my votes were counted - I gave Joywave 15 points, but they're not listed in the tie for the other albums that received 15 points from one voter.

Yeah, I thought we had 15 lists going in? I made a post about it a number of pages back.

Anyway, if HG wasn't counted, DAMN wins by even more and Prisoner makes a big jump.

Ugh I hope I didn't mess up cobbler the votes. Let me check.

Yes, I did fuck it up. I had HeartlandGirl's votes all registered in my spreadsheet, but somehow the formula did not include her column when adding up votes. Friggin.

Here is the revised list - my apologies to all, HeartlandGirl in particular.

The only major change is Ryan Adams finding his way into the top 10 and pushing Mount Eerie out. Lana del Rey now appears at #15.

I got into CTRL way too late for it to make it into my list, but it's a fantastic album.
