The 300k stream has much better quality than the 80k stream, because it uses 300 Kilobits worth of data every second, as opposed to 80Kilobits/second for the 80k stream.
The downside to having that much more data available for sound and video is that it takes a better connection to sustain the higher rate of data transfer, so someone on a 56k line won't be able to use the 300k option.
