In defence of NBC, we have the same problem here. They try to list roughly what's on, though, here.

I'm not really complaining abou NBC, because, I mean, what ar eyou going to do in such a small description box? But it's just so vague lol.

The TVNZ description for six hours of broadcast:

Women's Hockey (NZ, Swimming finals and Beach Volleyball Prelims. TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Not to mention I've seen gymnastics on TV, and they had tennis scheduled to be shown as well.

our is like: Summer Olympics:Swimming, men's gymnastics, U.S. beach volleyball - Summer Olympics
Michael Phelps is expected to swim for his first gold of the Games in the men's 400IM at the visually stunning Water Cube. Other live events: additional swimming finals (men's 400m free; women's 400IM and 4x100m free relay); and U.S. beach volleyball. Also: men's gymnastics (team preliminaries).

Seems I should've expanded the info on this time slot, thanks a lot TVGuide:

A men's soccer twin bill features the U.S. against Netherlands live and Lionel Messi's Argentina vs. Australia. In live men's basketball, 2004 champ Argentina meets Lithuania and Spain faces Greece. Also: live tennis; archery (women's team final); weightlifting (men's 56kg and women's 53kg finals); beach volleyball; equestrian (dressage); and women's badminton.

doesn't look like it's being shown here. I don't know though. I watch as much soccer as I can, I just never know when it's on. Baseball may be my favorite sport on the surface ,but my real heart lies with soccer.

^^^There were people inside of those types. They showed themselves after the performance was over.

I thought it was amazing. I thought having the Olympic flame lit by having Li Ning running high above the stadium was fantastic. Plus, the costuming was incredible, the tai-chi performance was too. All in all, a great great show!

This was the first time I've ever heard the Israeli commentators gasp and give out with a huge WOW!......lol.

That was arguably the best torch lighting ceremony EVER......

Here's the thing about GWB. I disagree with his policies and presidency about as much as you can, but he seems like a guy that I'd enjoy having a beer with.

that exact thought is what got him elected twice :hi5:

okay... the NBA on NBC theme song just brought goosebumps to my arms. god i miss that music.

and now it's time for what will ultimately go down as the single most watched basketball game in the history of the world.

and hey, it's actually live! (or is it memorex? )

That's a lazy attitude. Are you saying that if you want a glimpse of something not involving an American you should move to Norway?

i'm saying that a country that doesn't have as many potential medalists to feature is going to have more time in it's coverage to feature other athletes.

but this discussion seems to have moved on ...

The Chinese gymnasts, particularly the men, are out of this world. So, so, so unbelievably good.

The girls are amazing, and all look like they're 11, hahaha. Probably are.

Their divers are also gorgeous to watch.

Probably the biggest collapse so far of the games - the US soccer team giving away the match on a stupid penalty with about 30 seconds left. A 2-2 tie vs. the Dutch instead of a 2-1 win.

I have not seen the Chinese women compete yet, but did see the men last night.....pretty impressive....doubly so when you consider the pressure they have on them.

I know that a lot of people rip Costas, and while I think it's largely unfair, I rarely say anything in response.....but, as for Jim Lampley......the guy has been broadcasting for a long time, so he's "solid", I guess....but he conveys no warmth, no humor, nothing. He's just way too workmanlike, to me.

Here's my take on Lampley: he does his job, but this simply isn't a job you can do if you don't love it. It falls flat.

Chis Collinsworth is a douche. No, thats not the right word, but there is something about him that is unlikable.

I do not agree on Collinsworth, but well said re: Lampley.

I got a huge kick out of the NBA on NBC music, and they stuck with it throughout.....
