Yeah, it's had pretty mediocre reviews since Sundance. I'm just glad I can stream it.

I watched the first minute of Year One and stopped. No one has even said anything yet, but I can already tell I'm not going to like this.

Hey, random movie people, riddle me this.

Are there different versions of The New World? I had it on my DVR more or less just to watch the beginning and ending (I watched the DVD fairly recently but love the opening and ending, so just wanted to record it for that), and I swear the opening scenes were different.

I thought the version I'd seen had more of the quiet nature scenes with the Wagner music in the background before you saw the ships coming into the bay, but the version off of IFC had more opening credits than I remember, with these old-fashioned maps in the background.

Am I crazy? .... about this, I mean?

I haven't seen "Remember Me", but the ending has leaked online...and it kind of pisses me off, just alittle...

Yeah, there are three different version of the film, but only two have been released on home video. There's like a 2 hr, 15 min version, and also an extended cut that runs almost 3 hrs. Not sure which version is the one you were just describing, though. I get them mixed up.

My roommate is watching some old Gilmore Girls episode, and there was just a part where Lorelai and Rory were arguing about who had bigger boobs, and I think the former said they should measure for comparison.

1. Why don't I remember this, as I've seen every episode?

2. This could have been the greatest scene in the show's history.

3. I need to go write some slash fiction.

Are you sue you weren't watching some porno ripoff of the Gilmore Girls?

... perhaps the Fill More Girls?

Anyone here see the anime Blood: The Last Vampire? I saw it used for a few bucks and picked it up. Wondering if I should put high on my to-watch list.

I watched Heathers for the first time in .... I don't even know how many years.

Still awesome. Remember when Winona Ryder was tolerable? Hell, even Christian Slater was tolerable in this.

"Dear diary: My teenaged angst bullshit has a body count!"

Apparently I'm not the only Christian Slater detractor. Never liked that guy. Pump Up the Volume is one of the most laughable pieces of shit I've ever seen in the theatre; pseudo-antiestablishment B.S.

But yeah, Heathers was a good film. Winona's career peaked with The Age of Innocence. She's rather brilliant in it.

Well as it's only 45 minutes long it should be easy to slot it in rather quickly.

It's certainly stylish, but it's not something I feel the urge to watch again.

I didn't know he had any of whatever the opposite of detractors is (proponents?) I don't think he can be taken seriously. I saw an interview of him from when around Heathers came out and he called himself a "Jack Nicholson type". That was pretty much the end of his ability to be taken seriously for me.

Unless they're including the special features as part of the running time, which would be pretty lame.

BTW, all the products on Amazon are listing the longer time. So I guess I'll have to watch it to find out!

It was probably the first film I saw that mixed CGI with animation, I remember I was amazed by it when it came out. It probably hasn't aged nearly as well at this point, but it was somewhat ahead of the curve at the time.

Back to the Christian Slater talk, I really like True Romance, but can't think of anything else he's in that doesn't piss me off.

The True Romance BD has been sitting on my shelf for a good while now. Slater might be what's keeping me from watching it.
