How many can't wait the 19 days and are just dying for your new U2 fix???? I'm sure it's not just me :):dance:

i'm really thinking that since there are reports that the DJ's have heard the full song already, that one of them will leak either on air, or to a friend, who will share it online.

it's bound to happen within the next week to a week and a half, maybe earlier.
 
oh 19 days... 2 months between vertigo and new album... this is the problem :huh:

well you may have the NEW cd, but i bought solar today at target. they had winter on sale too, but i passed on that.
 
Ok, i thought Vertigo links would all over here today, but nothing. Why? My friend told me on Friday that he heard the new U2 song on 96.9, a Phoenix station, & said it was the premiere of the song. He said it sounded very different & there was Spanish spoken/sung in the song. I'll believe it when I hear it myself. I was hoping it is/was r eal though.:eyebrow:

Now where have I heard new U2 clips with Spanish talking?

I contacted a radio station and asked about the single (the host told me he had heard it). He said the single and the album were both coming out in November. Guess he's a little behind. :eyebrow:

This is what I got in the email:

It's pretty Raw... - guitars up, vocals loud...

Both (album and single) are slated for November... but we're just waiting for the so-called "leak" to happen and we'll get it sent to us....
 
I suspected we'd all hear something today (like a 30 second clip), but oh well. They're really keeping the lid on tight with this :shifty:
 
i know, this wait is killing me, I think I can hold out until Vertigo but until the album? Its going to be tough. All these leaks are making it worse, their so damn good! Everday I check interference and hope for something new, and when theres nothing it sucks (like today). I remember a week or so ago when I was out of town and didnt check the site for like 3 days. Then I got on and saw new leaks: Miracle Drug and Love and Peace or Else. It was probably the most exciting part so far for me in the hype process to the new CD. I had been wanting to hear Mirac;e Drug.
 
I've got a feelin' the 30sec clip might on U2.com by Friday, kinda makes sense. That would be the final 7 day count down 'til Vertigo hit's the radio waves. The only thing I'd question is it worth listening to 30sec's when the you'd hear the full thing 7 days after that?

Maybe they won't even put a clip up at all this time around, just make us wait 'til it's played on the radio. Don't know if I can wait the full 11 days 'til then without even a teaser!
 
a radio station has already reported that a short teaser will be sent to radio stations THIS WEEK, which means that it will be on U2.com. This Friday at the latest we will have a full quality snippet of Vertigo. WOOOOO!!
 
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I emailed our friend DJ Steve at 99x in Atlanta (the one who gave us the quote about the rippin' new U2 song) and he has heard nothing about the teaser being released this week. We might actually have to wait the whole -what is it- 10 days now before we hear Vertigo in full with no snippets to get a good taste.
 
I was out of town for the past few days but I also live in Phoenix. Last night when I got back in town my sister asked if U2 had a new song called Vertigo or something like that because she heard what sounded like U2 and the words Vertigo in the song on Mix 96.9 I thought she was full of crap, but it looks like someone else is claiming the same thing!!

The only bummer is that she told me it didn't sound very good and that I'd be disappointed.

Yea, my friend heard it on 96.9 & said it sounded "interesting" so that's probably good. I rarely love U2 songs the 1st time I listen to them, they always grow on me, especially everything they've done from AB to now. From that horrible minute or so clip, I think I'll like the song. Alright, I emailing the station to see what's up.

The Spanish in the song is really throwing me off.

So what's up Phoenix people? We have reports of people's friends and relatives hearing it (some friends! Not calling to let you know it's on or even taping it for ya) but no one actually hearing it for themselves. I think we're spending too much time here looking for clues as to when it will be played and not enough time listening to the radio.
 
I'm emailing the the radio station to see what's up. I checked with him again & he did hear the song in full while he was driving home from work on Friday. If only he had a cell phone, he could have recorded it on my answering machine! He said the radio station DJ said it was the premiere of the song. That's why I'm surprised that nobody else has posted about the song.

My friend said the song sounded very different (& really only knows the "hit songs" from JT to now) & there was something in Spanish in the song. (Hopefully not like Offspring's Uno, dos, tres, quatro, cinco, cinco, seis!)

I have trouble believing that's the actual song
not just because it would be on some site
but also because I think we would have known about if there had been spanish in the song
sounds like a joke re. out spanish friends babbling through the leaks or something :wink:
 
Oh i'm listening to the radio now....trust me. My sister definitely heard "Vertigo," on Friday and she would have called me if I weren't in Indianapolis.

She doesn't have a clue at all about the new albulm other than U2 is working on it, and when she came up to me & said "Hey does U2 have a new song about Vertigo or something like that?" I couldn't believe it. I thought for sure it would be all over the net by now!

But Salome, I thought one of the early descriptions by fans at the studio said one of the songs had a spanish intro...
 
I took me a while but I did find that fan description from a couple of months ago, I totally forgot about the Spanish intro song. That description does sound like VERTIGO!

Ok, I will try to translate the more interesting parts.

"... a un certo punto stereo a palla....parte una traccia con bono che dice qualcosa in spagnolo e parte la prima canzone....questa molto bella e rockeggiante....merita davvero un casino....con edge che fa la sua parte da leone....la seconda traccia....molto blues....ce n'蠵na terza dove nel ritornello bono credo canti qualcosa tipo cool love....c'蠰oi all because of you..."

Suddenly the stereo plays out loud, the first track starts with Bono saying something in spanish, it sounds very good and rock, really beautiful, with the Edge in great shape ... the second track is a blues song ... in the third one I guess Bono sings something like "cool love", and then there was "all because of you"

Anyway I heard about 15 songs, probably some of them will be b-sides ... one of them (the one with spanish-intro) really hit me and I give it 9/10, 7/10 to the blues one and 6/10 to all the rest,
but only cause I am a fan of U2.

"ah...ce n'era una anche che era un misto tra the playboy mansion e if you wear.... "

By the way, there was also a song that was a mix between "the playboy mansion" and "if you wear ..."
