Working Class Hero - John Lennon

i overlooked this poignant Lennon masterpiece--excellent choice

"And you think you're so clever and classless and free. . .
But you're still fucking peasants as far as i can see"

i also failed to give honorable mention to some Elton John pieces:

Rocket Man
Sacrifice

Vangelis - 'Love Theme' (From Bladerunner)

You stole my guy! Your choice is awesome!!! Though I would pick the first track "Main Titles" over "Love Theme". The Blade Runner song "Main Titles" is just so sweeping, universal and gorgeous!

I would also pose, as runners up:

"One Perfect Sunrise" - Orbital
"Belfast" - Orbital

I also agree that Alice In Chains' "Nutshell" is amazingly beautiful, as well as R.E.M. "E-Bow The Letter" (which, since my name is Ethan, I've gone by eboytheletter for many years), which is just gorgeous; the video as well.

Let me be the 23rd-ish person to mention R.E.M.'s Find the River. I hold it dearly as my favorite R.E.M. song.

I'd also like to mention Sufjan Stevens' "Casimir Pulaski Day". It literally brings me to tears every time.

"say hello, wave goodbye" - david gray
"wise up" - aimee mann
"the scientist" - coldplay
"lua" - bright eyes
"let it be" - the beatles
"last goodbye" - jeff buckley
"wonderwall" - oasis
"where the stars go blue" - ryan adams
"fast car" - tracy chapman
"love is blindness" - U2
"one" - U2
"bad" - U2

I love Lua and it was great seeing Oberst sing it while only accompanied with an acousitc guitar, personally I would choose Landlocked Blues as the most beautiful BE songs

Coldplay- The Scientist
Radiohead: Fake Plastic Trees
RHCP: If

But most of all:

Louis Armstrong: What a Wonderful World.

There are so many beautiful songs out there, how can you pick just one?

I'll add "Come Back" and "Down"

and Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees"

I was just thinking the same of Fake Plastic Trees! Come Back is also a great song, and one that has to be fully cranked up to be truly appreciated.

I find it really hard to pick just one "beautiful song ever." It's always the "beautiful song I love at the moment."

Right now, that would be Tomorrow Never Knows, by the Beatles. I think I've been living under a rock, because I just heard this for the first time this week...it's like an early descendant of Radiohead, with the way it's mixed and looped.
