btw if any of you come across an interview or anything with Bono talking about America, like the idea that America is and how he sometimes talks about that, can you please tell me where to find it?

I have to do a research paper on the American dream....which is SO VAGUE and I have NO IDEA where to start. She said to try and do something we are passionate about that will be fun to do, but I'm just so confused! Must talk to her about it

I'll keep an eye open, Sami. That is a broad subject to have to narrow down, but I'm sure you'll do fine

Bye Fly  have fun and Sweet dreams  talk to you tomorrow, I hope

Communism - or at least many of the ideas which inspired it - was a wonderful dream. Human nature, IMO, keeps it from working the way it should and leads to corruption, just like in any other government.

I'm not saying I've made a big study of Judaism or Islamic religions but I have been told by people who believe / worship in those religions that If you study ANY of the Abrahamic religions at least, they do all tell you not to fight - including Islam.

People pick and choose certain things and use them for their own reasons.

I dunno, maybe they twist the teachings of their own faith

But yeah communism. It definitley leads to corruption....no doubt about it. A form of utopia. The "perfect world" which there never really can be.

Anyway....its 3am over here so I think ill call it a night!

So great to be back here for a reasonable length of time for once!

Thanks for listening to me and sharing your own opinions.

Aswell as helping me understand certain things

Goodnight everyone!

Just to inject a little levity (and because I'm in a very random mood ;)), I present to you a song that "brings back the power ballad... and where do you go to find love in the new century? The internet." (At least according to the Arrogant Worms  )

Log In To You

You double-clicked my heart
You upgraded my life
You booted up my hard drive
Please be my cyber wife
You logged in to my soul
You downloaded my dreams
Let's go to my chatroom
And I'll show you what I mean

I wanna log in to you
So I can prove my love is true
You're the apple of my IBM, let me interface with you
I wanna log in to you

Password incorrect
My login was denied
I gotta open up your motherboard
Put my pentium inside

I got a 21 inch screen
The colours will make you dizzy
My attachments are full of love for you
But your modem still rings busy (beep beep beep)
www dot love
you at me dot com
You can unzip all my floppy files
And spin my CD ROM

I wanna log in to you
So I can prove my love is true
I'm free of any virus, and I've been debugged too
I wanna log in to you
So I can prove my love is true
Be my laptop dancer, I got lotsa RAM for you
I wanna log in to you

www dot love
you at me dot com

(It helps if you imagine them singing this in the hair metal band ballad style  )

:giggle: To truly appreciate the song I think you really have to see it live  Chris' little dance to the "spin my CD ROM" bit.. The expression on Trevor's face when he sings "but your modem still rings busy".. *snerk* If my cd drive wasn't screwed I'd save the track to my computer and YSI.. alas, I can't and there aren't any song samples available on Maple Music :(

 I saved mine and put them in a scrapbook, but I took them off when I got back to the hotel each night

Although, that does sound like something I would have done, not too many years ago :hmm:

it's been 2 days :reject: :lmao:

:giggle: I was afraid of wrecking it in the shower ;) I don't have a scrapbook, but my Mon ticket (a seat) is in my program, and the other two shows I have my wristband with my ticket... If I ever do get around to getting a scrapbook the setlists I wrote down will be there for each show too, though I should probably recopy them - writing in the dark and standing up = not good

 I got the setlists from Mark Baker afterwards. like WAY afterwards. :reject: I was like 'they played that?' 'oh yeah!"

I was just so overwhelmed by it all

sami left? I was gonna tell her to search @u2 for Bono interviews on her essay topic ... they have everything.

I took my GA/ellipse wristbands off the same night.

But only because I didn't want them ruined by water and only because I wanted to look like a responsible, normal 40-something-year-old adult at work the next morning.

And I saved them.

*G* In some ways I'm a real geek.. as soon as I heard the intro to a song I'd pull my notebook out of my pocket, write down the short form for it, stuff the notebook back into my pocket and bounce  I didn't want to forget anything, especially if Bono made a smartass comment or something quotable ;) I'm sure one of my setlists has the 'Edge is from the future" written on it, though I don't think I got all of that or the "I hope we don't fuck it up, etc" quote before Fast Cars during the Mon show *g*

There are definite advantages to one's first show being in the seats - you can see everything and appreciate it... and really, there's about as much space to dance as there was in GA  I wouldn't go back to seats though, unless it was a choice between that and not getting into the building at all!

Hey Jo  I was about to say it's only Adam girls left here hee hee... but I guess the Adam girls still outnumber the Bono girls!

A celebration may be in order

*ANYTIME* is a good time for an :adam: celebration

Think I'm going to go to bed and warm up... :hmm: Should I put in the Best of dvd, the HTDAAB dvd, or an actual movie? (No, I don't have Chicago yet.)

I never said I didn't like :adam:

This is the last :censored: time I order something I want quickly from Amazon.com and use stupid Super Saver Shipping! I could be happily watching the Vertigo Tour DVD.

Or I should be  ing all over the Born to Run boxed set tonight ... BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

As my coworker said today when I complained, "Amazon.com has only so many turtles they can deliver things on the backs of."

Pardon me for not  ing right now.
Even though it is kind of funny.
