Speaking of that, I remember watching a show on TVO (the name of which escapes me for the moment) hosted by Rick Green that had a different theme in SF/Fantasy every week. Well, the one week the topic was fairy tales, and Nancy Kreswell (an SF author) was talking about how a British guy bowlderized (sp) the original Grimm tales for his countrymen...

The example that comes to mind is Sleeping Beauty. (She wasn't woken up with a kiss guys, believe me!) Believe it or not, in the original version she didn't wake up till she gave birth to twins! In other words, the Prince raped her, got her preggers and then may or may not have been around when she woke up!
