I hate Greta Van Fleet they're just lazy revival of classic rock with absolutely nothing special to talk about
So back to the subject of "New Album" the emergence of Greta Van Fleet has given me some hope for U2. I'm, unashamedly, a 'rawk' fan and I'd love to see U2 strip back and go with the organic guitar\bass\drums sound.
I'm tired of the 'hip-hop' beats, the 'pop sound' chasing and wish they'd just be a band. They can't compete w/the Cardi B's and Ariana Grande's of the music scene. Stop trying...be who you are...you gave it a shot...it's not what or who you are.
Just my .02
Aside from a few glossy production flourishes utilized on some songs, literally their last 5 albums have been pretty organic and your basic rock album in sound.
dude have you actually listened to modern hiphop? like Lil Uzi Vert and Travis Scott and such?
Albeit with a guitarist who seems to have lost interest in making big sounds. I wish the real Mr Edge would reappear one day.
Dude...I don't....

this is the real modern rock
fine if you hated it I guess you can check this out:
That said, the last two albums are tonal trainwrecks at times and Edge is wholly absent. Unlike NLOTH, where I sensed that confusion in the direction and production was to blame, on these last two it seems like a choice was made. I find it odd.
Thanks for posting these clips, really made my morning a lot more enjoyable!!
If they're not touring in between occasionally than you might as well stick a fork in them if that's the time linehttps://www.independent.ie/entertai...r-enters-the-belly-of-the-beast-37473857.html
great interview.. briefest of mentions RE: new material being played with, while on tour. But they also clearly plan on taking a good long break after the tour ends.
I'd guess recording starts in 2020, at earliest. album 3-4 years after..
