And yet the problem remains unsolved -
How to express when only text is involved?
Heated words tend to lose their fire
When transmitted over a DSL wire
And when my excuses come out in a rush
You still can't see my embarrassed blush
(So use emoticons!)
Emoticons! Yes! But even at first
They were no more than text being terse };p~
And now that shortcut is outmoded -
Just one click and you have emoted
Must go faster, give me warp speed!
Instant communication created the need
Pixelated people in the electric dream
Can be more human than they seem
And so I feel like a dinosaur
Though my choices grow more and more
'Cause at the end of every post I wrote
Still exists a plain text goat }
