Audio Editing/Remastering Help Needed

After listening to some huge upgrades in sound quality to a few boots like wembly nights, DC 92, South Bend, etc, I have become interested in trying to enhance the quality of some other recordings I have. Is there an online FAQ/Tutorial out there that would help me out? I have a few audio editing apps, but I am clueless to many of the features they offer. The manuals only take you so far. Any help would be appreciated!
