I like the alternative version. But the album version is a bit better. Bono's singing at the end of the album version is way better than the alternative. I like Edge's guitar in the choruses on the other version.

Another example of the Tedder-Epworth cabal ruining everything.

Because a pointless and annoyingly repetitive "This is a watermark for Robin Rhodes" remark rightfully missing is somehow ruining EBW ?

Another example "it's better because it's not the reworked version" syndrome.

I wonder what the rawer versions of the songs Tedder and Epworth worked on sound like before they were polished up.
I actually like this Alt. version of EBW and the acoustic version better than the album version.
Should've let DangerMouse do the whole album! Screw Tedder! Screw Epworth!

I'm guessing that this version is still Tedder and Epworth.

I like the verses better in the demo, I like the space they allowed, but the chorus is much better on the album.

Don't get me wrong, I think very highly of all 3 versions and it was probably the best choice for the album. But I still like the other 2 better. The lyrics and guitar sound are pretty superior on the alt. and his vocals on the acoustic are the best amongst the 3 imo. But like I've said before, I really wanna hear the NLOTH version of EBW at some point.

Doubt it.

Why? The song sounds exactly the same except for two changed lines and a different guitar part. Edge told Tedder to completely deconstruct Wave. You're telling me that's all he did to it was change two lines and some guitar? No way.

I still prefer the album version, but the other 2 are fine.

Yup.

I didn't listen closely enough, but didn't Edge or Bono say something to the effect of Tedder moving the song's original chorus down to the middle 8 or vice versa? If that's not apparent in the song, then it's possible that it's just an alternate version of the song they worked on since the spring. Sort of like how that Spanish fan site had fans that claimed they heard two slightly different versions of The Miracle in the studio.

That original version of EBW played on 360 had a jarring key shift into the chorus that never worked for me. I haven't checked if the current bridge is just that chorus placed back in the proper key or not.

Yup.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. There's just not enough different about it to suggest that Tedder had nothing to do with it.

They completely removed pre chorus and chorus from the original version. They removed coda from the orifginal version and turned it into bridge. I need to use to these changes, but I think they did the best decision with the album version.
