Actually his predictions a week before the album came out are just about on the mark. Announcement on 9/8-15 and physical release in mid October......
My source has been telling me things much worse than he's implying, though.

I don't have any sources

FWIW (from @U2 Facebook page): "Not usually fond of spreading rumors, but we’re betting U2’s tour dates will be announced tomorrow. (Monday) Hope we’re right."

Maybe just because tomorrow is World Aids Day...

I would guess that only the EURO tour dates would be unveil.

Yes, because the U2 tour has something to do with that.

I'd expect to hear or read something from Bono on 1 December, but I'm not so sure he'd like to have this mixed up with a tour announcement.

There's a new Bono video in (red)'s Twitter... If you retweet it BOFA donates money.

Edit just to say that the video is from before the accident, unless a miracle occurred.

Possibly. I only say that because the band is very concerned with that cause, and a tour tie-in would be logical.

*Things that bug me about this forum #126: people picking apart every word of every post. Maybe why I lurk most the time.

Who the hell is your source? TMZ

For any other band, announcing today would be OK, but with Bono so tied to the cause of eradicating AIDS, I would think that they would not announce it today because it would just perpetuate the perception that Bono's humanitarian work is self-serving. And they don't need to amplify that chatter even more right now.

It depends on what your definition of the word "is" is? - Bill Clinton

Agreed.

In what way is U2 announcing a tour on World Aids Day self-serving?
If they were planning on doing it during a World Aids Day benefit, then, yes, sure.
But otherwise I just don't see it.

Moot either way:

@atu2
No tour announcement today, but still possible very soon. Some kind of news coming later today, possibly about World AIDS Day, source says.

They can't do it Tuesday either because it's "International Day for the Abolition of Slavery Day"

Bruce and Chris Martin

Adam Clayton, The Edge and Larry Mullen Jr. will be joined by Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, each of whom will take a turn as frontman on the U2 songs. Appearing at the personal invitation of U2, Springsteen and Martin have graciously donated their time and talents to save the World AIDS Day event from cancellation.
