If I hear one more it sounds like Coldplay arcade fire ______ whatever I will likely lose my shit

This album I've heard, it sounds like;

Adele
Linkin Park
Arcade Fire
Killers

If anything this album has confused the shit out its fanbase.

Wow. I love the acoustic versions. They just feel more authentic, emotional and passionate. Wonderful - raw voice, beautiful melodies and much warmer without all the effects.

I hear a lot of people saying that. So I went back and gave them another go.

Aaaand - nothing... those versions are doing absolutely nothing for me. More than a little surprised actually as I was very much looking forward to them.
Don't know if it's them or me but we just don't click. Could be the brass... or Bono's overly ernest voice. Maybe I'll get around to them in time  Cuz I really like the concept.

I thought EBW was the best as acoustic. California is decent as well. The others did nothing for me.

Crystal Ballroom is indeed a great song but am kind of surprised by the hyperbole. I wouldn't change anything from the proper album, and the fact that Crystal Ballroom is on the bonus CD makes no difference to me. It's all part of one work.

Totally agree

I cannot really relate to the enthusiasm about CB. It's a good song, but it's not that amazing, at least not to me. It wouldn't have fit on the album. SOI is good the way it is, there shouldn't be any song replaced.

I actually think the acoustic Every Breaking Wave sounds Adel-ish

:reject:

California sounds like Katy Perry.

The second half of the album, and Crystal Ballroom and Lucifer's Hands as well, sound like a U2 album that was produced by Danger Mouse.

There is a spider in my garage. He (or she) is crawling around on one of my cars. Up and down and all over what to her (or him) must seem like a big gray mountain.

I don't know if there was ever a web, of if the car became the trap and the spin all but spun.

I'm not spun but i do feel that way some times. Couldn't be the long hard days? Or just the long and the hard...

I got the email today and i resisted. Then i saw some of the comments again this evening and im still resisting. Glad to see im not alone.

Something has to be sacred....i want the disc in my hand...discs....and then i want to hear something new.

I've got several places to play them and several holes to fill. The Earth it is a churning.

Get three coffins ready.

I was sent this in a rar and can't open it no matter what I try. Can someone send it to me either again, or in another form. Thank you so much!

Are we sure the bonus disc isn't Songs of Experience? You've already experienced SOI, so here's a new take on it...ya know?

Ala the Achtung Baby reissue, "Baby" versions of all SOI songs available soon:

At this point it's unclear if sales of this version will count for the Billboard charts.

I want that BABY Rockstar disc!
Got many of these in my collection. Even U2 sounds good in Lullabies. LOL
Very soothing music to relax and take a bubble bath :D

EBW is beautiful. Just love it!

I'd rather get as a bonus gift the 2009 version discarded of the NLOTH tracklist than this acoustic version (and this still is one of my least favourites of the album, mostly because of the chorus lyrics and arrangement of the standard album version).

Looks like it is now oficial
The final public release for the Bonus Cd will have all the acoustic songs
mixed together as one.

03 – Acoustic Sessions - at 22:48 minutes long

Personally, I enjoy listening to them separately.
Mix them around in my cd player for a different listening order.

Yep - the cd is sitting next to me, and while I haven't played it, that's how it's listed.

I am very happy for you Dan_Smee
You already got your cool CD. :applaud: Congrats man!
I am only going to pick up mine on Tuesday, next week :crack:

Well, just because I download the records does not mean I do
not support the band - that goes for ANY band I enjoy their music.
I buy their records and CDs too.
The new bands need all of our support to get them through the hard times
and continue making great music for us!
The U2 Band, actually don´t need the $$, but I am glad I am
supporting the guys buying their records for them to construct their next
spectacular live show!
Those stages cost a pretty dollar these days.

That's interesting indeed. I wonder what's the real reason behind this. Maybe U2 doesn't want us to "mix them around"? It doesn't seem to make much sense to me since these tracks are very different from each other, they aren't strictly acoustic and the alternative version of SLABT doesn't seem to belong there. But we'll be mixing them anyway because we have the digital versions.

Btw, the tracks are individual tracks in my Amazon library, I just checked it out.

The Crystal Ballroom should have made the album but I would have not swapped out anything.
Invisible is a bigger quandary.

Acoustic Cafifornia is very very bad..... and I love the album version a lot.... but mehhhhh!!!!
The rest is very average...... feeling no emotion at all for those acoustic tracks.

I like the groove in Lucifer's hands, but yeah the middle part is really messy. Too bad, they could have made a damn good song with it. Glad it's not included in SOI, doesn't fit.

The only 2 songs I want to hear are Crystal Ballroom and alternate SLABT but I can't open them..... anyone could send me the links please?
