Sorry, Zooropa is on. And I'm drunk. And Stay is one of the best things ever. I hope the first single of the new album is a slow song.
 
In terms of setlists, we also may be overestimating how much the new album will actually factor into the tour. Of NLOTH's eleven songs, only three (Boots, Crazy, MOS) were played at every show, five were gradually phased out and four were never played at all. Not that U2 will become a pure greatest-hits touring act, but you wonder if we're wrong in presuming that the usual 8-9 of the new songs will be tour staples.

Do people now have "guys" that provide them with unreleased songs? This has to be the most ridiculous of all the recent "my friend is an insider" attention whores.

By the way, why the hell do some #people feel the #need to freaking #hashtag every #word in a #sentence, seemingly at #random? :angry: :angry: :angry:

Haha yeah it could just as likely be 10 pages of discussion about the failure of Boots and what should have really been the first single from NLOTH. One great thing about the album announcement is that we will no longer see any of those conversations!

I don't know what you are looking for but its no secret that im a mass murderer with a lengthy kill list. I once killed a man for making an awkward comment about one of my cats....he had the choice to die quick and honorably, or slowly. I won't get into details but lets just say he chose wisely. Others who haven't, when given the choice, often get an intimate look at the inner workings of their internal organs just before they fail. PM me if you want details...I can back you up.
 
what was the first official NLOTH releated release? was it No Line on the Horizon II? when did that happen?

NLOTH2 was played on RTE2 one afternoon in february. I recall cause I was in the computer lab at uni for a computational course. It was the day after Dave Fanning played Boots I think, or perhaps after that.

The first clip of Boots (the looped one) leaked the same afternoon as the Obama inauguration performance. The song itself was played the following morning

I doubt very much that we'll get a rocky single like Vertigo or even Boots as first release for the new album. Somehow I think U2 will go down a very different route this time.

Kind of what I'm thinking too. According to one tweet from a guy who supposedly heard it, he mentioned that he thought it would be a commercial hit, so I wonder if it's more of a single ala "Beautiful Day".
 
Same thing happened around NLOTH, but I didn't save those threads as I was avoiding all spoilers. It will happen again this time. Always fun in retrospect. :wink:
