I've never listened to anything by chk chk chk, I keep meaning to, because I think the source of their name is pretty fantastic, but bands like that usually don't pan out for me. (bands that I like the name of without having heard any of their music)

Ooh, groovy bassline in Slyd. It's some pretty decent dance pop. I can pretty much guarantee you won't hate it. Reminds me of Hot Chip in many ways.

Anyone familiar with House of Love, I would highly suggest listening to their new album. Seriously, it sounds like pretty much everything else they've ever released, which is a good thing.

Anyone unfamiliar with House of Love, please go listen to their two self-titled albums, posthaste, kthx.

I have a "best of" of theirs, which looks like has been been discontinued now:

Amazon.com: Best of: House of Love: Music

I actually got into them because The Shins covered "Destroy The Heart" live quite often during the Chutes Too Narrow era. And we've circled back to Garden State related discussion!

Alright, alright, you've convinced me, though I've soured a lot on Hot Chip recently.

I just listened to that best of the other day to see if I wanted to check out their other albums. I do. I love this band so much lately. The "Butterfly" House of Love album is just one of my favorite things in the universe.

This is pretty groovy, DB. I am pleased. Probably should've listened to an older album of theirs first, but oh well.

Man, I am in the process of having heard 4 albums from 2013 today and all of them were fantabulous.

Mark Kozelek is just the greatest thing.

All this Boards of Canada hubbub has inspired me to take a listen to their discography. Where the hell have I been? This shit is so far up my alley.

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu is really really really really good. I'm working through her discography from the start and liked but didn't love Baduizm. is more spacey and Badu has more presence as a vocalist here.

Not quite as good as Voodoo though, that's definitely the best soul/funk record of that year.

Music Has The Right To Children and Geogaddi are two of my favorite albums from that era of indie electronic glitchy type music. I listened to the crap out of Autechre's Amber and Tri-Repetae albums back then as well.

I understand why people don't really gravitate towards it having heard their more recent albums, but I still feel like M83's Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts is my favorite electronic album from that era.

I can't decide if Music Has the Right to Children or Geogaddi is better, but I settle it by saying they're brilliant in different ways. Really, they are very different records.

Campfire Headphase is pretty good too but it doesn't cohere as well. The first half is so warm and relaxing but it turns cold by the end.

I've only heard Music Has the Right to Children. It's one of those albums I have to be in the mood for to listen to or else it just gets annoying.

Also, this Savages album is quite something. Digging it a lot.

I'm starting Music Has right now, but I know I don't have enough time to finish it.

The few songs I've heard isolated weren't really big ones for me, but we'll see if things don't change.

I am speculating which subreddits each of you subscribe to. GAF and r/taylorswift, for instance, is a no brainer.

r/taylorswift is cool because, unlike a lot of the celebrity subreddits, they don't ONLY post pictures. There are actual topics about her music and career and stuff. There are a lot of idiots over there still, though.

r/emmawatson is always fun.

Oh yes. I never post anything, but I'm there all the time.

Probably my third most visited site of the last few years, behind this place and ESPN.

I've only known about it for just about a year, but it really has become the "front page of the internet" for me. I don't really post or comment much either, aside from the r/exmormon area, which has been extremely therapeutic in talking to others going through the same thing.

It's my favorite of theirs - the only one in my book that has consistency. The others I find to be WILDLY inconsistent.
