I'm pissed. Fuck this Record Store Day!!! The record store U2.com linked me to in my area said their not participating in this because It's not Record Store Day, It's Black Friday and their not participating in Black Friday. And now I can't find any online stores that are still selling WAIE.:rant:

If anyone knows an online store still selling please, please post a link.
 
Actually, most opportunists that go to Record Stores for these events buy up copies and put them online for profit. It spoils it for people that want to buy copies for themselves.
 
I managed to call up three stores in Toronto. All of them said they *expect* to have this in the store by Friday. One particular store said they are only receiving one copy. As a vinyl collector of U2....I'll be pissed if I don't get my hands on this.

haha, if it makes you feel better, despite owning a great turntable and sizeable record collection there is one U2 album on vinyl that I haven't opened up yet and that is my copy of Passengers I found 5 years ago for $6 dollars.

I was the first to place an order (before they had a listing) which was a few weeks ago now. Since then it appeared as a pre-order on their website and they took other orders, but they only got one copy (and won't get any more) so I am the lucky owner.

At least one of my other pre-orders has debited my credit card so far - one US store charged me US$26.49 (including postage) last Friday but it hasn't shipped. If this order is not cancelled, I'll happily sell it to a Sydney-based fan for whatever I paid.

Just got an email from Amazon UK saying that the order is delayed because they have yet to receive stock. No mention of canceling the order, though I wonder if that's not too far down the horizon...
 
No record store near me is getting it, despite all being listed on the RSD site. One guy said his distributor isn't even getting it, let alone individual stores. He said he's gotten 30 calls today about it--the most he's ever gotten about an album in a single day in all the time he's been at the store.
 
I went to my local record store today to see if they were getting any copies. The guy laughed and said try eBay. He said their order went from 10 to 5 to 3 to 0. The other record store said their order had been cut down and he had no idea if he was getting any at all. My guess would be no based on store one.
 
So where are they all going>? I know there are a few 1000 stores to supply, but news can't be that all of them aren't getting any... Any good luck sotries from anyone?
 
I'm going to go to the Princeton Record Exchange on Friday and get a copy just in case. I can always give the extra copy to my brother for Christmas.
 
Wow, that's interesting that the stores listed are saying they're not getting any. Both stores I went to said while they couldn't predict what exactly they'd get, that also meant they couldn't predict that they for sure wouldn't be getting any.
 
I called a few local stores last week and they said they didn't know what they were getting. I'd rather just go to a place that I know is going to have it.

Mine is supposed to be in the mail from Vintage Vinyl. If and when it arrives, opening the package will feel like opening the Wonka Bar to find a golden ticket after reading this thread. :crack:

I'd be curious if you find any places that say definitively they will have it.

The second of the two stores I talked to seemed confident they'd be getting the U2 vinyl, but they couldn't say for sure.
 
Yeah, Vintage Vinyl claims to have shipped mine. I got a tracking number but the info hasn't updated in two days: "electronic shipping info received." Ideal Copy claims they are going to be able to fill their pre-orders. I stopped by my local shop today and the guy seemed pretty sure he would get some, claimed he had talked to the distributor today.

No way I'm paying $100 on eBay for this. :angry:
