Hey comet and cori! Or should I capitalise those...

Cori, I have a confession to make (and I have a feeling I may have confessed this before... oh well) ... I used to think you were a bloke when I came across random posts of yours in other parts of the forum. :reject:
But don't worry, I am in no doubt any more about your gender! :D

What was the picture? :hmm: We have lots of Targets here.

Here's the picture the person posted:

I was even going to splurge on a frame. :(

 It's okay. My femininity is still intact.

Now I may have to go to a Target to get that for myself!

Cori is in good company...I still have to tell people I am a girl!

So a few people said on @U2. They must have some special mystery Target. I'm going to be really bummed if I can't find it at the other two Seattle area locations.

 You'll end up with like 10 of them.

I have 3 Targets in my neighborhood alone, not to mention more within a few miles in every direction beyond that. :crack:

There's a truck in my neighborhood. I still have no idea what it's advertising because I can never think to figure it out every time I see it.

:shifty:

wetedge.jpg

This isn't U2-related, but I saw the best truck ever last week... If you know of Sweeney Todd, a fictional barber/murderer who was the subject of a semi-recent musical film starring Johnny Depp, you may have been amused by this truck, which bore the legend:

"Sweeney Todd Medical Waste Disposal"

What was even better was that this company had won several business excellence awards...
"... And the pies in the cafe were great, too!"

*too easily amused*

Three Targets in your neighborhood?

There are only two Targets in all of Seattle (proper) itself! I'm going to hit one in the suburbs first, and then potentially the other Seattle store, although there's construction going on that would make that one a pain in the ass.

Oh wait there are 2, the other I was thinking is a little bit farther, but still this city is Target crazy. (I just did a Google search, 10 of them within 10 miles of me)

I wish those people on the other forum could have been more specific - they couldn't remember what section they found them in, just that it was in an endcap display.

I walked through the entire store, although I was fairly certain it wouldn't be in the lingerie section.

*fights urge to capitalise names*

How've you been?

I'm good. I have been absent from these parts for a while now I know :reject: , although I've stayed in touch all along with some of the people here in other parts of the forum. But the pants got me curious again.
How have you been? :) I've missed all my Aussie and Kiwi middle of the night buddies. I just took a postcard off my fridge the other day that gluey had sent ages ago and was thinking about all you guys.

So more than 1 person actually found it then? Wow. Okay I'm going on a Bono hunt tomorrow. :hyper:

I think you might have to register to view the forum, but if you're interested, here it is:

U2 Poster at Target

Although I lied - someone mentioned finding it with the home decor stuff - clocks, frames, wall stuff. I looked there AND the stuff they had in a college dorm room section. nada.

" Now, Ali, DON'T let a bunch of Cranky Calvinists, tell YOU how much Fun you should, or shouldn't have!":D

Being "easily amused" is a greart gift one can have!

I know I appreciate it!:lol::wink:

These pants could probably ditch Bono and launch their own career by now... *L*

I'm okay, flat out like a lizard drinking, to use a phrase my old maths teacher was fond of... Between moving house and organising UK citizenship (no, I'm not planning to move there at this stage) and stressing over Aussie tour rumours and already having a pretty full gig calendar in Nov/Dec, including having to organise travel to several Crowded House shows and a friend who just moved out of our house being 9 months and 3 days pregant, and the bloody federal election tomorrow, and I can't even remember what else... oh yeah, work's been crazy too. Yeah, I'm a bit busy.

But! The UK app is nearly done, I've paid my parents back in full for my car, and I still have some tax refund left to cushion the Crowdies tour (or one of a dozen other things I could spend it on). So, can't complain. :D

Oh, plus I went to a gig on Lygon St last Friday, the 13th... hours after two people got shot dead further up the street. Don't see that sort of thing much in Melb!

And I don't see enough of gluey these days! :( I see her posting on FB a lot, at least. She's been even more flat-out than me, and for much longer. :hug:s to her!

 Cranky Calvinists...

Gawd, wasn't Mr Calvin a joyless miserable excuse for a human being?! Him and... argh, I can't remember the names now. I think I saw a statue of him in a church in Edinburgh, or was that the other bloke? I know I've read something about that lot somewhere, but whether it was Scotland or Switzerland, I can't remember. Something about the Reformation... and there was an exhibition in Geneva about ... one of them.

*total history/theology/politics/geography/memory fail*

I picked up a bunch of leaflets but didn't bother reading them at the time!

ytou are def booked with business, aLI!

oh, scary shit, huh?:hug::hug:
I remember someone got murdered on a block (in front of a billards placce) that I at that time often walked by on that side or other side of the street.

i def avioded it for a bit!

I picked up a bunch of U2 posters at various sales that travelled to our uni, when I was a student... they're all rolled up and hidden away somewhere. And for some reason I can't find one that I actually like enough to put on my wall... if I was allowed to put posters on the wall. I miss my old room with a double-mirrored wardrobe that I could stick things to with blu-tac without marking rented walls.

I have a black and white 80s poster of the band (I guess just Bono and Edge) standing in front of some castle ruins, and it says "The Unforgettable Fire" below. It's a Corbijn shot, and I'd love to get it framed one of these decades.

I also have a poster from the early 00's, where it's four separate b&w pictures of them, and for some reason a small square of texts reads "U2, (and then lists their names) Back To Where They Once Belonged." I love it because Bono looks UNF.

Those are the two I have hanging up, although I think I have one or two others rolled up in the back of my closet. One is one of those giant JT album cover posters. I used to have LOADS of U2 posters, including a really hot AB-era Bono in leather, bending over and lighting a cigarette. UNF UNF UNF.

Wish I still had all of those. :(

 I'm glad you "got" the joke.
Yeah really....the life of the party, them folks!

UNfortunately they affected certain areas of the USA, too. :(

i can be one of the most serious people on the planet! I've got my nind following issue in/of Politics, Enviromentalism, sexism, racism, trhe future of the USA ( and the world) etc etc....

BUT I ALSO sure know how to have a hell of a lot of fun!!!:hyper::yippie:

some one made up the line....( for a different Protestain emergent group) for The Purtians....approx...:

"A purtian is someone who get upset thinking that some one some where is having fun"

something like that but a bit wittier!

and, see, look UNF = FUN!!!!! :lmao:

ETA That was perfect timing on your post, cori!:applaud::applaud::wink:

:yikes: I would too!

Besides the general scariness of it, I bet the business owners in that area are cursing the gunman for depriving them of a weekend's takings too... Very popular restaurant district.

Cori...perfect comment to Joe in the Zoo Confessionals thread. I have been thinking the same thing for such a long time!!

He was posting that stuff years ago. Then he went away more or less for a while, and then recently he popped back up still totally beating himself up.

Guy's got issues.

Ali you've been busy!! Sounds good though  (except for the scary stuff! Many years ago my NEIGHBORHOOD had one of San Diego's worse serial killers. He stayed totally within my neighborhhood. It was the scariest shit ever ever ever. He was finally caught only about a mile or 2 from my house.)

cori thanks for the link. Your posters sound awesome. I'm a bit of a u2 posterwhore so I love hearing about the different posters people have. I have about 10 hanging in the house right now, with who knows how many more stashed away everywhere, and I would still love to put more of them up. Damn kids need to clear out of those perfectly good bedrooms.
