So .... this is still a tour in support of the new album, right?

double-yoo-tee-eff, yoo-too?

:grumpy:

NLOTH songs: 6

ATYCLB songs: 5

There are still 4 NLOTH songs that haven't made an appearance at any show, and yet tonight could easily be mistaken for a gig off of the Elevation tour. Good lord, if they refuse to support their new album, then they should at least diversify what they give us off of their old albums. Where's Pop? (they owed Raleigh a song or two off of that) Heck, where did Boy go? I'd even rather see "Original of the Species" or something like that than this many songs off of ATYCLB. I sure hope they do better than this at the show I'm going to.

Wtf no Unknown Caller? No Until the End of the World? ...sorry guys but I feel the setlist is lacking & the encore leaves much to be desired. I can now confidently say that since Ive seen the show twice. Hopefully it will get a little spruced up in Vegas.

I'm so happy they brought back In a little while, I  the song so much!!!! Compensates a little for the lack of Unknown Caller, but only a little. I wish they'd play UC again. Good to see them shifting the songs in the first half of the show around. After all, very good set, and sounds like a great show, too. I think I'll get a bootleg of that.

And I don't care about the many songs from ATYCLB, I'd be more than happy to hear them, it's one of my favourite albums.

Setlist seems ok and quite balanced with new songs and older stuff.

i didn't know this was the all that you can't leave behind tour.

5 fucking songs from that album. that's just flat out cruel, when they continuously ignore their far better material.

i'll say it again, but to have stuck in a moment, elevation and walk on played at the same show is fucking awful.

I'll tell her, thanks. It is just so hard being smarter than everyone else and being liberal and Non-religious in this part of the country. We still have people flying the Confederate flag around here.

oh the gold that interference comes out with... it really is brilliant.

maybe i shouldn't be so hard on u2 when their fanbase is as... questionable as the above quoted indicates.

No it isn't. Those are great songs and a lot of U2 fans love that album.

in that case, a lot of u2 fans have absolutely no sense of taste whatsoever.

and those three songs that i listed are anything but "great".

if indeed they are, then what can be said about every other song ever created by anyone? because i'm pretty sure those are all better.

not saying i don't disagree with you on the ATYCLB thing, but i must ask, when's the last time you've said anything positive about U2 on this U2 forum?

Okay, I'm sorry, but 5 ATYCLB to 6 NLOTH to 0 Boy, October, Zooropa, and Pop is just absurd.

The amount of ATYCLB songs this tour is absurd. My third leg Elevation tour gigs had six songs off that album being played...
Walk On is part of the show so that can't go..BD is their biggest hit this decade, so that stays..

But the rest? Elevation is a great crowd sing along pleaser, but they already have a bunch of them in there..and Stuck...

I really think they wanted UC to turn into the next sing along (with the chorus on screen), but that never really took off so now it's getting dropped....shame

Was at the show and agree 100%. Performance was dialed in, too. B+ compared to other rock shows, C compared to other U2 shows.

are you kidding me?

i really like their latest album and i've said so many times. that in itself has to be worth something.

i went to night 1 at wembley and got 4 from atyclb, but at least a fair number from nloth. i found the new material, along with ultraviolet to be the highlights of the show... the new songs sound great live and the added element of the claw equates to an incredible experience.

and i don't understand why walk on has to be a "part of the show", as someone suggested. nevermind the fact that it's musically boring and lyrically ludicrous, the crowd don't even get off on it... at least not the show i was at. noone gives a fuck about birds singing for freedom, because we're not in elementary school anymore and we can comprehend things slightly more abstract.

as a friend of mine said recently, it's not that u2 are terrible. it's because they're so good, it's that that makes it so frustrating to see and hear what they're playing these days.

no i'm not kidding you. i must have missed your positive posts about NLOTH.

well fair enough. there's no denying that i've bitched a fair amount of their 00's work, but i think i've been forthcoming in my admiration of their latest record.

I didn't say it 'has' to be part of the show.. It is part of the show whether we like it or not..

Walk on carries a clear political message for this tour and is a core song, it won't be dropped.

Yes, I'm all for them adding more songs from NLOTH and I'm slightly worried about them dropping UC, but I don't understand the hate for AYCLB. I think it's an album with a special meaning for American fans, that's why they play so much from it. And IALW was only part of the set last night, so call that one song less from that album because it will be gone again for the next show.

I have a very bad feeling that YBR is gone, to be replaced by IALW. The American populace that they have to pander to makes me really angry. And yet they still complain that U2 aren't playing Rolling Stones setlists yet.
