Now hold on just a darn minute there! (Read with a Jimmy Stewart accent)

LeCras should have been in the team but there's no way Porpus should have made it over Chapman. Tippett is the special one at Adelaide, if Porpus was as good as you're making him out to be he should have kicked 70 goals.

Don't think Davis should have made it. Goddard and Goodwin should be swapped around, why Swan was selected as a forward we'll never know.

Great to see Enright get his just desserts.

But you see, Porpoise is playing with an injured shoulder, still. He's a freak, he'll kick at least 60 with a healthier shoulder, which should get better next year. Chapman's a gun player, but hasn't he missed quite a few games?

Also, the AA team needs more Bernie Vince. Nah. He'll be in the AA team next year.

Tippett has the capacity to kick 70 next year. The thing is he only really discovered what he can do when he booted 7 against Essendon in round 11. Before that he was kicking one or two a match.

Anyways ... Collingwood won't be so lucky this time. Why be nervous Danny? They only beat us by 5 points (Bock would've made a difference though), and at best you're at least a 4-5 goal better team than us.

Because Collingwood always play well against us. I'm extremely nervous. We aren't playing late 07/early 08 style footy I don't think...

Vince is good. Sadly I think Tippett will head north

Catters haven't been, but aren't far away from finding it....they can almost smell another saturday in september....

Anywho, who'd you go sorting out tickets? Apparently about 23,000 still left.....

well i said to a mate if he wants to go, he said if you can get them i'll pay you back. i have to work  if it was today, perfect. might speak to dad

Still, you'll be just about full strength.

This may mean nothing but when Tippett put us in front on Saturday night you can tell he wanted to play for the team, very passionate etc.

Plus we still have Dangerfield!

We could crack 1000 posts in this thread before long. That is worthy of a shout.

We've not got long to get there before the end of season though ...

Maybe we should argue about the final at the G some more?

It would be an ideal suggestion.

We'll have a gameday convo for the GF in here, that should notch up at least 50 more posts.

Last year, I think the grand final discussion ended up happening more in the Superthread.

So, regarding the location of the grand final, where has it been held in the past? The G, Waverley ... and I believe it was moved somewhere during/around WWII as well?

It's almost impossible from preventing anything going into the superthread.

Yeah, I'll probably be somewhere else when the GF is on. But hopefully there will be a lot to talk about the next day. Plus, we still got the Brownlow and Prelims to get through, obv. And other things, maybe.

Only two weeks left, though... I'm gonna miss footy. :( Will try and follow A-League a bit more until the next season.

You've got a lovely club to support in Adelaide United in a nice cosy stadium, though I heard it's miles out from the heart of Adelaide...

Hindmarsh Stadium is a pretty easy drive for me, but I hear parking's a bit of a bitch. Was thinking of going to the game this weekend against the Victory, although some other stuff came up, unfortunately. Still, do plan on going to a few games over the next few months. It'll be nice supporting a local team for a change. ;)

no chance

a seedy sunday analyse convo maybe..

I suppose so ...

I'll be bored after the football. The cricket promises to be a snooze fest, so scrap that. The A-League seems interesting enough, but definitely not as entertaining as the AFL. The tennis shall keep me occupied when it arrives at the Hopman Cup with the build into the Aus Open. Exciting.

Wait, doesn't the Tiwi Islands league start soon?

They better broadcast the GF for that at least. They're meant to be pretty incredible high-speed games.

Prelims are always this expensive  I'd hate to imagine the actual price of a week 4 ticket, let alone a scaped one... :crack:

Dad paid $500 per ticket, for he and myself to go the Granny in 2003. Worst Day Ever.

i had a look on the website, concession ticks looked a bit cheaper, maybe i should have mentioned that. grand final is 150 odd apparently :crack:

Jeez, that's just insane. What were the seats like? Believe it or not, but I was actually supporting the Pies in that one... was just getting a bit tired of Brisbane winning flags and Malthouse was still reasonably fresh from the Eagles.

cant wait for this all to end just for geelong fans to shut the fuck up .
even if in the unlikely event geelong could possibly beat collingwood - like if they dont turn up , st kilda will trounce them for the flag.

:D

this town kills me at finals time. do we really need blue and white doughnuts? really??????
ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

They were standing room, and we couldn't see much at all :giggle:

It's probably made from all the tears cried in Geelong after last year's grand final.

Well, St. Kilda v. Western Bulldogs is on tonight. I'm tipping the Saints, a no brainer really.
