Does anyone know which channel this is on in the UK and what time?

Thanks

Bono with eyeliner is pretty cool. Michael Stipe pulled it off and you can say about Bono whatever you like, but he is still miles better looking then Michael Stipe. Although that is not very difficult. No, Bono without the shades and with the eyeliner. He will look like an american baseball player. Maybe they have some blond cheerleaders in sexy boots that can sing: Go Bono, go Bono. That would be awesome:drool:.

U2place.com has a rumour they're opening with Vertigo-Boots medley.

That would be bad news. They need to put Vertigo to bed at least whilst this promotional tour kicks off. Otherwise it will encourage comments about Boots being a rehash of Vertigo - which of course it isn't - but you know what people are like.

Vertigo-Boots works for me. I'd like to see how Vertigo works live, two years after that disaster at Cannes.

I'm torn whether to believe this or not. I mean, the article does state that they rehearsed GOYB 5 times and didn't end up being happy with it. So I can see them going on the safe side and pulling off a Vertigo medley of some sort.

Nonetheless, I hope this is not true. Just give us a GOYB performance, rusty or not.

Let's hope for the best. I think GOYB is a hard song to do live if your lyric memory ability is challenged. He needs a miniteleprompter installed inside in glasses. I wonder if that exists.

People seem more psyched about the WalMart clips than U2 performing their new single LIVE for the first time and kicking off a beautiful year!???!! :hmm:

13 hours to go :applaud: Can't wait!

Because it's the fucking grammy's. Pretty much represents all that's wrong with music these days.

get used to it I guess...

To be honest I was surprised that he was still using the HTDAAB glasses in the GOYB video. But I'll also be surprised if he goes shadeless during the tour because he mentioned one of his eyes has a reaction to bright lights.

The picture says "January issue" but I'm guessing that changed to the February issue?

disaster??
what happened?
Bono sounded like he had just smoked a carton of cigarettes.

I want one for school, if they do.

I personally would rather not see them force something they don't like.

I think playing any part of Vertigo tonight would be a huge mistake. U2's got the prime lead-off spot and breaking out a song that's more than 4-years old looks bad when they've got a new album coming out in less than a month. It makes it seem like they don't have confidence in their new material.

Vertigo won a Grammy, and Boots hasn't. I wouldn't jump into the impending doom category just yet when band members feel this is their best album. No lack of confidence there.

playing Vertigo (Medley or Snippet) would be a huge mistake - idiotic -and so I'm pretty sure it won't happen.

Really looking forward to the show - Paul McCartney with David Grohl, Coldplay, Radiohead, Plant - and Bono with Eyeliner...

hope they'll pull up another snippet from the new album - I could imagine this.

No, jon is right. Playing Vertigo would be a terrible idea. That would easily be the most unjustified performance, not only of their career, but possibly ever.

The thing about Vertigo is that it's the most memorable song from the last album, at least for the "masses." It was everywhere and practically defined it for them. That said, I don't think they need anything from the last album. Just play Boots and either another new song or an old, old rocker.

If I find out in advance they are playing Vertigo, I think I'll avoid watching out of embarrassment. If they're going to play an old single, they might as well step back a few albums.

DOOOOOOOM! I'm sure screwing up Staring at the Sun in Las Vegas was worse and yet they were able to perservere.

Playing just Boots without any connection to their Grammy past could easily be criticized as crass. Thanking the Grammy voters with a reprise is not the end of the world.

I don't think it matters what the band does. There will always someone criticizing small insignificant things. When the tour starts no one is going to care about Grammy performances. I just hope that they do a decent performance and Bono's vocals hold up well.

They did good performances on SNL and would like them to do something like that in the future when the album comes out.
