Eric Gagne so far this season:

3 games, 3.0 innings, 2 HR, 4 ER, 12.00 ERA, 1 save, 2 blown saves.

$10 million a year just doesn't go as far as it used to.

I was watching last night, hoping that he would find a way to blow it. I did not stay up for the bottom of the ninth, or even the tenth...I was content with what I saw in the top of the ninth. I have seen two of his three games on TV now, and he has blown both of them (despite the fact the Brewers ended up winning both games)! Love it.

Looking forward to seeing him try to close a game in June at Fenway.

Intense Cubs game going on... into the 15th inning. Second consecutive 12+ inning game.

And of course, this is the first Cubs game this season not on TV.

the phillies apparently have decided that they don't want to play baseball anymore. in 3 innings they've walked 7 batters with 4 errors and a passed ball.

Well hey, beating the Mets nine straight times is bound to get boring eventually.

The Mets had already tied the game up before Buckner's error. If he doesn't make the error, there's no way of knowing if the Sox would have won. If anything, with the momentum swing, the Mets most likely would've won anyway.

That was kind of my point, except I wrote it incredibly awkwardly. Basically what I was getting at was that the horse was out of the barn already by the time Billy Buck made the error. Even if he makes the play I'm not sure he can hobble back to 1B and beat Mookie, Stanley didn't bother covering, and even if they get Mookie and it goes to 11 the momentum is clearly on the Mets' side...that's why I compared it to '03 ALCS game 7, tie game but momentum clearly in the Yanks favor, and we saw how that turned out.

bruntlette had a real tough series - both on the field and the plate.

he made 2 errors two days ago and then yesterday went like 0-6 w/ a GIDP

well moisture won't return till april's over... so there's plenty of time for pagan to come back down to earth between now and then. if he doesn't? well it's certainly a good problem to have... two solid corner outfield guys off the bench in pagan and chavez who can spell alou and give church some time off against lefties when needs be.

if alou's healthy and hitting he's playing. he did hit something like .360 down the stretch last year, including hitting in somewhere close to 45 of 46 games.

he's also 92 years old, so there's that. but yea. if he's good to go, he plays.

So what do we think about that Reyes play at the plate last night? I think he got in but even on replay I'm not anywhere near sure.

he may have been out, but anytime you have a play that you're not even 100% sure on after seeing it in slow motion is a play that you really can't criticize the umpire for.

But wait. Would Pryck be one of the four horsemen?

As much as I'd be honored to be in the horsemen with the others, even I would have to admit that I'd probably ride alone. Haha!

Ahh, here we go, Yankees/Boston: A rivalry renewed.

Dammit. The Red Sox absolutely teed off against Wang this inning and have but one run to show for it.

my favorite thing about the 2008 chicago white sox is that some days, they hit the piss and shit out of the baseball.

Don't get too excited, it was the Tigers the Chisox beat.

Lefty-specialist extraordinare Eric O'Flaherty: 7 games, 6.2 innings, 15 runs allowed. :|

Justin Upton enjoys playing the game of baseball, and he's very good at doing so.

Upton brothers FTW.

Mario and Luigi or B.J. and Justin?

Take your pick.
