The bakery called me back today to say that they decided to hire me afterall
I asked what changed their mind and I got two different stories rolled into one. I think the owner is a nut and they have high turnover. I took the job and start in 2 weeks.
BUT....
there's a catering company that I would kill to work for that finally is in need of a pastry chef. I applied yesterday and just received an email saying I would hear back from them next week if they wanted to do an interview. The fact that they responded must mean they're interested in meeting with me since I've applied to a few dozen places that never contacted me at all.
Also....there's a restaurant in Mpls with a pretty nice reputation and has won a lot of awards that is also now in need of someone on their pastry team. So I'll apply for that as well.
This bakery job is something for the $$$. I'll still be looking around for something else while I work there, especially if the owner is as crazy as I've heard.
