Well, this has been much more than my fill of internet drama for one night.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone in the US.

(And Happy Thursday to everyone else.)

:)

Dear folks of Interference....stop playing internet deities!

No. And I say that in the nicest way possible. :)

It rubs me, and a lot of others, apparently, the wrong way, that this guy got ahold of an unreleased item that many, many fans would LOVE to have, and sold it at an immense profit. Not only that, but when people pointed out the shiftiness of the whole thing, how it's not really ethical in a fan community sense, he goes on attack.

I don't know what he expected. A pat on the back? A "way to go, you entrepreneurial spirit, you!"

There's a whole thread of decent people who are willing to pick it up for others at cost if they find it, myself included. Those are the people I respect and admire.

But if he can live with himself, whatever. I hope some day when tickets are less plentiful, that he has to go the eBay or scalper route, because no one will sell to him at face.

You could be an Internet loser like Cori and spend your time on the site talking about music you enjoy with people who have similar tastes ...

... or you could be a normal person in reality like Old Man Fly who spends his time on this site researching other posters to insult them because someone eight pages ago called him a douchebag.

I'm a hermit. Haven't you heard?

Into Interference folklore this thread goes!

You folks handled that situation very well, kudos.

"Roland of Gilead, I've seen your requests for mp3s on u2.com and you have been obliged..BY ME! For someone to be okay with piracy and according to Utoo, is no different than scalping and selling on ebay, imo, is an oxymoron. You're a hypocrite .."

Dear oldmanfly,

Since we're taking names and all that Jake99, lets be clear here.

-Hey Jake99,

I quite often follow the collectors club thread even though I don't post much. It nice to stay on top of things U2 products related. Being from Canada, I can't purchase from downloads from the US Amazon shop. Would it be possible to get a copy of Crazy (live) audio that was just released this week? Very much appreciated. I still plan on buying the cds when they're out.-

Your response;

-Hey Clayton, here ya go bud!-

So, Mike. At least be honest here with me. Especially if you wish to discuss openly about me and our previous contact. But maybe this was never your intent?

Nonetheless, I still do appreciate your help in getting that song to me. Something still not found in Canada. Take care.

Regards,
Mr. Hypocrite

Just ordered a copy from some independent shop in Holland. Reckons they are shipping it on Dec 3....we'll see. Rough Trade East have 10 copies for sale, first come, first served on Monday 8am

Don't really venture into this bit of the forum much (does that mean I'm not a lifelong internet loser  ) but this has been comedy gold! :cute:

PS could someone please direct me to the oonts oonts thread, cheers

I guess......but it makes me snicker the way Americans loves to celebrate the capitalist and then hate them at the same time.

I have the original 12" vinyl of 'Pride' with the blue cover and '11 o'clock tick tock' on. I paid £1.99 for it in 1984. I have no idea how much it is worth but I guess it is worth more than the original price I paid

Question - At what point is it okay to sell your stuff on ebay for more than you paid for it?

If you admire it so much, then why don't you automatically go to scalpers when you need tickets, rather than look for them for face in the ticket thread here?

Not American, btw, I live an hr down the road from you.

As I said all along, my main problem is with the shop owner who is breaking street date and selling 10 copies to one customer. If you look at the RSD website, they actually have shop owners sign a pledge not to break street "to keep customer and store disappointment at a minimum." And now oldmanfly tells us the shop owner himself is selling product on eBay ahead of release date? That's simply not in the spirit of Record Store Day. They state pretty plainly on the site that if you can't adhere to the pledge, you can be removed from the list of participating stores.

I'm not an American. And I don't celebrate capitalism that much either. This has nothing to do with being a capitalist or not.

Wow this thread has turned into so much more. Pure entertainment.

Now let's hope my order arrives soon! :D

Happy thanksgiving to all the Americans out there!

By the way guys, can anyone tell me what the meaning of the word "broad" is in slang? Cause I've no clue what he insulted me for outside of the C word. Not the first time I've been called that either, I remember our favourite kid StormierZiggy being rather fond of it...
