um....yeah.....so why don't we just not post unless we're discussing their rehearsals.....uh....yeah......

the only way i'd want to listen to anymore africa bullshit is if they played silver & gold

It's like using two condoms, y'all.

The absence of UV/UF has me a little concerned. I hope I'm just being unduly paranoid.

Yep, same with me – and where is Drowning Man?

Makes you wonder huh...I mean, these aren't standards...you think they'd be trying to practice them the most. God, heads should roll if those were false rumours..those songs!!!

what the hell is "Message from Desmond Tutu?"

not more africa shit

Africa shit? I know I come up with some real gems, but do you actually hear yourself say that? "Africa shit" just happens to deal with people's lives, in case you've forgotten. It would actually pain you to hear Archbishop Tutu say a word or two? Really??

the only way i'd want to listen to anymore africa bullshit is if they played silver & gold

Here's a novel thought: sell your tickets, fast. I sincerely hope U2 never listens to people who think discussing important world social concerns is "bullshit". If people are going to start this crap again, I can see me getting an early retirement from the crack for a while

we got enough problems here in the USA to worry about.

i go to a concert to hear music, not to get preached to about something i have no control over.

in the all the time bono makes speaches about africa they could've played another song.

truthfully i dont blame them.

saying africa shit and so forth is not appropriate to say but we are buying tickets to see a rock concert, not a lecture. i support the one campaign and everything and even wearing a ONE bracelet now, but come on bono stop the speeches and sing.

Or in that time we (myself included) could get off of our spoiled rotten asses and help those in need.

I find Bono's power to inject a bit of reality into one of the most over-westernized events possible, a stadium concert, fascinating to say the least.

Yeah, but if you go by that theory, why not turn the whole thing into a lecture and forget the songs. ?

Dude, the speech might go on for like 5 minutes tops. It's really sad that that bothers you that much -- that you don't think it's important enough to spend 5 minutes of your life hearing about.

i already know about all the problems in africa. i dont need to spend $150 bucks to hear about it.

That's absolutely false and you know it. He never took more than 30 to 45 seconds on average per show last tour. Out of over 120 minutes of concert time.

And you do have some form of control over or at least input into world socio-economic issues, living in the richest nation in the world. Which is probably why Bono keeps hitting you over the head with it.

What an incredible contribution, wearing a One bracelet and all. You're buying tickets to see a show that you know will include a social message, their shows always have. Kindof funny, it brings to mind an example of past tours...remember how long in total it took to get all the mothers out on stage during Mothers Of the Disappeared?? The barely a minute One speech kindof pales in comparison, huh?

I'm not concerned that they didn't rehearse UF, UV and Drowning Man. They still have over a week of rehearsals and they could have already rehearsed them a lot in Dublin

Jesus Christ, these threads are an embarrassment sometimes, people.

maybe it would be nice to go to a concert for 2 hours to ESCAPE from this rough economy and bad times we live in, not to hear about it.

The MOTD event happened one time, and it was pretty significant, don't belittle people who do what they can for the one campaign, Gabe, Jesus.

I'm not belittling anyone, but to be honest it's hard not to laugh if someone says "i don't blame them" out of one side of their mouth and then says "hey, i wear a One bracelet"

Maybe I understood that wrong, but it sounded like simply wearing a bracelet should be good enough reason to get Bono to shut up.

well guess what.. its gonna happen...

if it makes u so unhappy go get a beer or hit the bathroom during this. Bono has been 'preachin' to us fans for years now during concerts whether it's about Africa, human rights etc.. that certainly isn't going to change anytime soon..

Don't you mean, living in the country with the biggest debt in the world?
In a "fair"world Bono would be speaking about the USA when it commes to poverty issues but for some reason it just doesn't work that way. :hmm:

It's all bono's fault anyway
