It can be any date. You can do the remastered ones too. For instance: I really like these 1999 albums: Oleander-Feburary Son, Everclear-Songs From An American Movie Vol. 1 & 2, The Clash-London Calling (Remastered), Joe 90-Dream This, and etc. ;)

1997: (In no order) Third Eye Blind-Third Eye Blind, Everclear-So Much For the Afterglow, Oleander-Shrinking the Blob, Marcy's Playground-Marcy's Playground, etc.

1979:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Damn the Torpedoes (my favourite record of all time)
The Clash - London Calling
AC/DC - Highway to Hell

Honourable mentions:
Elvis Costello - Armed Forces
The Police - Regatta de Blanc
XTC - Drums & Wires
Talking Heads - Fear of Music
Pink Floyd - The Wall

Apart from U2:

Depeche Mode's "Songs of Faith and Devotion", and "Violator"

and Simple Minds' "New Gold Dream".

There's HEAPS more, but these really stand out.
