Losing scouts has nothing to do with the elections since 2016 and is only based on 2016.

Yes - the Dems lost the house in 2022. But every incumbent loses seats in their first mid term. That the Dems held the Senate and actually almost held the house is incredibly significant and should not be written off as "oh but we lost the house." It's a tad more than just a "moral victory."
